This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The engine has had a horrible loud squeaking sound when the air conditioning is on. Almost every belt and the tensioner has been replaced more than once. The service center at center Chrysler in van nuys California repeatedly has told me this is normal. I have never heard another car ever which sounds so bad. I am afraid that something in the engine will snap or break while I am driving with my small children. I am getting no adequate response from Chrysler. Everytime I call I am told there is no problem but the mechanic has now told me that he thinks it may be the water pump belt. Why is Chrysler not dealing with a defective car?
