Airbag light came on intermittently and then stayed on at all times, cruise control and horn did not work. Mechanic replaced clock spring which corrected defect.
Airbag light came O/ horn stopped working. Dealer found clock spring assembly had to be replaced. The manufacturer agreed to cover only 50 percent of the repair cost when the consumer reported the problem.
Air bag light permanently on due to failed clock spring assembly, air bags disabled, also affected horn and cuise control. Vehicle suffers from unusual power drains/fluctuations, battery replaced 3 times within 3 1/2 years. Electronic door locks (four doors) frequently fail, can only service when failure is consistent. Vehicle occasionally stalls (abruptly) at any speed, throttle system serviced a few times (outside of tune-ups) with little benefit. Front and rear windshield wipers activate by themselves quite often (but never at the service shop/dealership), with no set pattern, multifunction switch replaced twice. All problems except for air bag (customer paid for repair as well as for other problems) still persist.
Air bag light illuminated on dashboard. Consumer contacted dealer. Dealer stated that clock spring had short circuited which could cause air bag to deploy without a cause or not deploy with a cause. Clock spring was replaced. The consumer believes the rpair should be the responsibility of the manufacturer.
This part is failing on alot of vans according to the service department O moser Dodge. When this part failed we were trying to warn another car that pulled out in front of us by using the horn thats when we heard a pop and the air bag light went on. When this happens you lose your horn, airbag, and cruse control. I believe this to be a safty issue and a defective design as there is nothing an owner can do to cause this condition. The dealer would not return the old parts when asked to do so. Hope you look into this problem. Thank you.
The airbag light on the dash panel comes on and stays on most of the time now. Ocasionally, it goes off. I am very concerned that the airbags may not work properly in case of a crash.
Upon rear impact consumer drivers seat back collapsed and air bags did not deploy, consumers sustained broken finger, unoccupied captain style seat broke out of its anchoring during accident. Nlm
Airbag light kept coming on and stayed on while driving. Consumer felt that airbag may not go off in an accident. Took vehicle to dealer and, and they found that clock spring was defective.
When making a turn with air conditioning on vehicle will shut completely down, causing a loss of power. The dealer has been contacted. Condensation from the A/C was falling on the elctrical component causing the vehicle to die this occurs because of the flaw in design. Sliding door sticks. Windshield wipers failed. Hazard device failed. Horn malfunctions. Air bags failed.
The air bag light would come on constantly and would stay on. Also, horn failed to operate properly when used and windshield wipers would come on & off by themselves whenever the turn signal was in use. Problem is intermittent& has been happening for two years.
The airbag light on dash came on. Took to dealer for estimated repair cost. Expected it to be repaired free, since this is a non-maintenance item. The van is less than four years old, but is out of manufacture's warranty due to mileage. Expected this to be covered. Dealer said that the cost would be $75 dollars to find the problem which we agreed. Then said it would cost $300 to repair, but the $75 would be credited to the repair & we would only need to pay an additional $225 if we repaired it within a reasonable time. The dealer was fitzgerald Dodge in frederick, md, which is the same family of dealerships I bought it from (fitzgerald's lakeforest Chrysler/Plymouth in gaithersburg, md). My question shouldn't they repair this free since the van is less than four years old, never in an accident and the air bag has never been deployed? please contact me as soon as possible. I want this corrected because my wife and family are on the road daily in this van and I fear for their safety without the air bag(s) working.
