Just imagine driving down the street at 25-30mph and the hood flies up against the windshield. Fortunately, for me the person behind me did not plow into the rear of me. I phoned the insurance company which had it repaired pretty quickly....too quickly I suppose because when I called the Chrysler, LLC office they Special Investigator said in error that there was nothing that they could do because the evidence was destroyed. He essentially said that that there was nothing more that Chrysler could do. They don't know why it happened but it seemed as if the latch was working perfectly now. Well I now have a new hood but the same old latch. My major concern is that if you don't know why it happened to begin with how do you know that it is fixed. Suppose that it is not the latches at all but something connected to the latches that made them both fail. No one is listening to me. I am now very fearful of driving my car which I mentioned to the Chrysler Special Investigator and his recommendation to me was "if you are that afraid you ought to just trade it in and get something else" he said that they have done all and everything that they intend to do and he hung up the phone with me still talking.
i just want this to go on record as a pretty serious problem; but know one is listening!
