Sometimes when starting the car it doesn't want to catch. When does start, at every automatic gear change the car will hesitate and miss out. The rpms will rise but the car jerks and jumps and doesn't want to run. I have to let off the gas, let the rpms come back down then it will run ok until the next gear change. I've been told that it was the transmission...but every time it does this I hear the bell/or ding of the low fuel alert, so I think it has something to do with the fuel system. I have checked into the cost of this and the fuel pump (located in the gas tank) ranges from $220.00 to $265.00. Then the labor to repair is anywhere from $125.00 to $200.00. That's money I do not have right now, especially with Christmas 10 days away.
