The contact owns a 2002 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that the check engine warning light intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump was leaking. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.
A fuel pump was replaced in the car. After the repair the car ran bad and the engine light was on. Dealer advised it was only oil sludge and it was okay to drive. The car experienced a complete engine failure while driving on the interstate.
