Bought this car without knowing all the problems that came with it. Good looking convertible, Gold body with a black convertible top.
At 120,000 MI.,oil light started going on when idling and off when it was up to speed. Had the sensor checked and was leaking oil. Replaced sensor and oil light came on again. Figured maybe it was a bad sensor but it went away just as fast as it appeared...Being an electrician by trade I began to wonder if it was an electrical problem, minor ground at best and it had cleared itself or dirt and road grime was the problem.
Soon after this my Airbag light came on and has been on since....my outside mirrors do not work....my lighter in vehicle does not work so my car charger is out of the question....my heater has fits of blowing hot air when it is is in the mood...etc. The fan motor is fine all though I have lost level 4 on my fan indication but still have 1-3 for now and my mirror lights have gone out. Then when I figured all this was just the beginning....my car would start missing when the engine was running but when I would pick up speed it would go away until I came to a stop..then it would start again.
Bought a car manual and have traced some of the possible problems to the(ETACS ECU) Electronic Time and Alarm Control Ecu. If this is malfunctioning then 90% of the problems may arise from this. Check all your wiring first to see if you are getting DC voltage off of one side of your fuse before you go to the ETACS. If no 12 volt DC, then this item is $650.00 dollars at dealership....Airbag light..air bag problem... doubtful if air bags are bad...called the airbag control module. Check where to find it depending on year of Chrysler....20002..under center counsel.
Good Luck to all who own one if you were looking for a project car...........Deigo ....Mandan Nd.
