I am not able to have anyone sit in the passenger front seat. I take my father who is 90+ years old to doctor appointments and general shopping and he has to sit in the back which is quite difficult for him. I believe this is a safety violation. After finding two other seats to try and replace the seat or just the retractor, both seat belt detractors were also broken. I checked for recalls, but did not find one.

I keep my car garaged at all times, and it has very low miles because I had another vehicle I used for daily use until 2013. Now I exclusively drive my Chrysler Sebring Convertible.

I spoke to the police department about replacing it with a lap belt. They informed me the seat must be returned to the way it was, or I would be given a sizeable ticket if anyone sat in it not properly restrained.

My need to fix this for is critical and for safety reasons.
