We experienced loss of motive power while on the highway. We received a Malfunction Indicator Lamp illumination and the accelerator went limp. Our whole family, including a baby and toddler were on the car when it happened while driving at normal highway speeds. The manufacturer has looked at the vehicle and acknowledged this transmission issue has happened to 2017-2023 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles.
While driving on highway on4/22/23 the vehicle displayed a message stating -??stop safely, vehicle will shut off soon-??. I lost the ability to accelerate and had to coast to the nearest shoulder. This happened during a high traffic period and I had children in the car. At the time there was no shoulder near by so I had to drive on the busy highway at very slow speeds until I could pull over. This was a very dangerous incident and I-??m lucky I was not in an accident.
Vehicle would lose power unexpectedly at highway speeds and in town posing a major risk for an accident to occur. We brought the vehicle in for the recall-software update but vehicle continues to lose power. The only change is a warning that appears on the instrument dash screen to slow down/pull over because the vehicle is about to lose power. This is still a hazard at highway speeds and busy in town traffic driving because you are required to shut down your vehicle. Not acceptable on many levels and I would have assumed the recall would fix the actual functional disturbance and not just create a warning screen.
My 2022 Pacific Hybrid Limited stalled today while heading towards the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Luckily, I had enough momentum to make it to the shoulder. I've had it since late December and it has 3900 miles. It started with this whine for 10 miles prior to the stall, similar to the fake whine EV cars make to warn pedestrians. Then I hit a patch of traffic that dropped my speed to less than 10 mph. When traffic started to go again, the car shook and grumbled until it stopped accelerating all together. The check engine light blinked on. At that point I was maybe going 20mph and quickly started to go over two lanes (had to cut off a guy) but made it to the shoulder safely. Once we stopped, we all noticed the smell of something like burnt electronics. The car wouldn't move at the point. I tried turning the car off and on for the next 15 mins and still no go. The car also had <1% battery power (which we used up the battery maybe 20 minutes prior to the stall).
During the month of March, 2023, my vehicle completely shut down on two occasions, both of which occurred while traveling at highway speeds. There were dash icons that were lit, including a check engine light, a turtle icon and a message to Pull Over. The shutdown caused me to move quickly to the shoulder of the road, with limited ability to maneuver in a safe manner. These shutdowns occurred after the vehicle had its software updated based on Recall 03A (Loss of Motive Power). Apparently, the update only served to provide a warning on the dash that the engine was about to shut down (which occurred immediately). The dealer has had the vehicle for some time, and the latest update is that they are replacing the vehicle's transmission. It would seem unacceptable if, in fact, a (known?) issue that causes a shutdown was addressed by merely providing a millisecond's notice that the vehicle is going to completely die. This is an extremely unsafe situation, placing the motorist, their passengers and nearby vehicles in danger.

The vehicle was part of the O3A recall notice and was taken in about 2 to 3 weeks ago to have the software "fix" done. Last evening while driving on the highway, the car gave the warning of safely exit road way, you are about to loose power. The power loss was immediate and was almost reended by the vehicle behind, but was able to get off highway with out accident.
The vehicle will randomly stall out. We took it to the dealer to get it fixed, they kept it for a month and did a software update. It's been 2 weeks and it stalls out about 6 times a week still. It's very dangerous and we can't even use it on the highway. Only backroads. Chrysler and the dealership have said it can't be fixed and they are not taking responsibility.
Our Chrysler Pacifica hybrid had the software update related to the wiring short that has caused multiple Pacifica Hybrids to shut down. We had the recall "repair" on 3/9/2023. On 3/12, while driving on the interstate traveling 70mph, the warning popped up, indicating that a power shutdown was imminent. I had my entire family, kids, and elderly parents in the car with me. Fortunately, we were able to pull over safely, but had we been on the road during a busier time, we would have been in serious danger! Our Pacifica has less than 10k miles and has had no problems previously. The software "fix" was not a fix at all, and this is a huge concern since the entire reason for purchasing a van was to travel safely and conveniently with our children.
Vehicle had a sudden loss of engine power while at speed traveling on the highway. We were able to safely pull over, and after a few minutes restart the vehicle. After additional driving we encountered the issue again, at speed on the hoghway, however the vehicle did not shut down properly and would not start after repeated attempts. The vehicle would show the ignition was on 'run' however would either not allow shifting into gear, or upon shifting into gear immediately throw an error message on the dash stating to shift into park and restart the vehicle. I believe that this issue will not be fixed by a recall where the solution is advanced warning of an engine shutdown. We are fortunate to ha e had this happen when we were in a position to pull over safely as the speed of the vehicle plummeted unsafely after loss of engine power. This happened on Saturday March 11, the previous night the vehicle had been charged overnight. The loss of power was not experienced untill the hybrid battery charge had been depleted and the vehicle was running on the combustion engine
While traveling at full highway speed, the Pacifica turned off entirely without warning. We had to navigate in traffic through 4 lanes to pull over with children in the vehicle. The vehicle would not turn back on after pulled over until hours afterwards. However we towed the vehicle to a dealership due to the safety concern
Second complaint for same issue. Our vehicle stalled 6 times over the course of 17 miles driving around town, maximum of 50 MPH at times. We have multiple videos of this. Have contacted Chrysler and was told they do not have a fix for this issue even though they are aware it is a safety issue. Awaiting call back on how they will help resolve this issue ASAP as the car is basically undrivable with stalling that many times in such a short trip!
It seems that some of the standard safety features are unavailable or missing due to some reason which is mentioned in the optional equipment. below two things seem to be missing: 1. Safety sphere 2. ParkSense Rear Park Assist Additionally, there is also a recall on this vehicle regarding the safety issue. Dealer is denied to make any changes or repair to the vehicle. Please investigate the matter as these are major safety issues.
I drive on the freeway, and I lost any power with the car, I'm lucky my baby was not in my car on that day. It happened two times and I go to the Mopar service center, they tell me they don't have the part for that, and I ask them what's should I do with that situation, and they said that's a good question, I have no idea, but you can wait for the part and I don't know when the part comes in maybe a week, and maybe few months.
While driving on the highway, the vehicle coaster to a stop. It gave a warning to plug in the battery for conditioning and the D was blinking. It said to put to P to stop. Was able to coast to the side of the highway safely and vehicle had to be stopped and turned off to be able to run. This happened 4 times in under 30 miles on the highway.
Driving in traffic, slowed to a stop for red light and dash lights came on. Vehicle would appear to start, but transmission would not engage (gear selector light would blink, instead of being a solid light). If I let off the brakes with the car in drive, the vehicle would roll backwards (as if in neutral). After several minutes of pressing start/stop button, the vehicle eventually started and went into gear. I called FCA about the issue, and they couldn-??t find any service center to accept my vehicle within a week, and told me I could rent a car on my own if I was concerned.
Hello. I am writing to say that the proposed fix for NHTSA 23V-010 and FCA 03A is insufficient. The stated problem is a short causing a loss of motive power. The proposed fix is a software update that informs the driver of the situation. This is not a repair for the root cause which as stated in the recall is a short causing a loss of motive power. I propose that the NHTSA put more pressure on Chrysler to repair the root cause of the problem instead of a software update that merely notifies the driver. Car losing its Motive Power @ highway speed. Have multiple videos. It Start happening on Saturday 1/21/23. ON Monday drove car to local dealership they told did software update. That did not fixed. New recall they don't have any parts or information on it. Bringing car back to local dealership on 1/25/2023. Car is unsafe to drive on Highway speed. Dealership service department told me they don't really know what todo. Chrysler Custumer service advice if the not able to fix the car bring it to independent repair shop for brand new car less then a year old.
Vehicle lost ability to accelerate on highway engine sh*t off, lost power steering, dashboard read -??press break and push button to start-?? as though vehicle were turned off. Dashboard displayed default message -??service hybrid electric vehicle system-??. Happened 3 times in span of 3 days. 2 of which were on the highway, the 3rd was on exit ramp of highway. The inability to accelerate/loss of power steering while driving is a huge safety concern. We called dealership, service manager immediately acknowledged safety concern and picked up vehicle at our home. Vehicle is currently being evaluated at dealership.
This is a Plug in Hybrid vehicle (Rental from Avis). I was driving on freeway today January 13, 2023 and vehicle lost all propulsion (did no respond to accelerator being depressed) with warning message on screen "Press Brake and Push Button to Start" and "Shift to P to Start" while at 64mph. Vehicle was slowing down and would not accelerate when pushing on the accelerator pedal. Happened twice during 20 min drive into work. I was able to have my phone ready and took pictures of the warning screen the second time. Pulled off to the side of the road to be able to switch the car to "P", turned off the the car with the push button and then restart. Notes: 40 degrees F 10 minutes into drive Heated Seats ON Rained the night before, damp in the morning This issue occurred on January 10th as well and had to pull off and restart as well.
When it is unusually cold, the heater fails to heat the hybrid battery sufficiently to register the correct voltage. This causes the car to enter -??turtle-?? mode- a special mode that limits the car to 30 mph. It-??s designed to allow the driver to get to a dealership. When we were driving at highway speeds about 70mph, during a particularly cold day, the turtle mode dropped us suddenly to 30 mph. This nearly caused an accident as we almost lost control of the vehicle on ice and snow. It was so sudden we had to swerve into the side of shoulder.
