While driving the car down a busy 4 lane road at 55mph on [XXX] around [XXX] in Irvine, CA, the car began to shake as the steering locked up and alerts came up on the dash that the power steering had failed. After turning the car off and on it did not fix it. Leaving it off for 15 mins seemed to make the error go away. We had it towed to Tustin Tuttle Chrysler dealership for service. The dealership found the fault code in the log, it was a power steering control failure. They could not replicate the circumstance and insist on releasing the car as safe to drive; putting my family and the public at great risk. The dealership refuse to even run diagnostics on the faulty identified part. They said if they cannot recreate the problem they won-??t fix it, even though they see the error code on their scanner. They shouldn-??t be telling me the car is safe when it is clearly not. They only drove it 30 miles and did not check wiring or even pop the hood. They have done no work to deem it safe and this is fraud. Rochelle, the service manager, has told us over the phone that she will not work on the car, because she believes she will not be reimbursed for the work. She has said she has had the car for too long and wants it picked up. Her service advisor Erik, has read us the codes found over the phone and also told us that no one has worked on it and only has test driven it. Our greatest concern is the dealership is not servicing or repairing vehicles and putting very dangerous cars on the road. This is a public safety issue for all of Southern California. Additionally, this car was purchased with a full manufacturer-??s bumper-to-bumper warranty, of which it is still in its covered in the next 3 years or 40,000 miles. This vehicle continues to display the same symptoms that are listed in V53/NHTSA 19V-348. The steering wheel gets stuck when making turns on roads at around 40 mph. It also displays similar behavior when making slow moving turns and the wheel is fully locked to turn either left or right. I have called FCA today and asked that my vehicle be included in the recall notice. The customer service person I spoke to could not do that for me. She could only suggest that I lodge a complaint on this site. It's a dangerous situation when you are driving as you hope that the steering wheel will return to the straight ahead position after making the turn. This makes my wife nervous to drive. It is negligent for FCA to ignore this as the end result could be tragic if not addressed. I implore you to add my VIN or batch of manufacture to this recall. To answer the bullet point questions. 1. Steering. 2. Risk that the steering wheel will not return to the straight ahead position. 3. I could easily replicate this behavior if a dealer would want to drive with me for a few hours to the roads that I know that this occurs. I could most likely demonstrate the low speed outcomes too. 4. No inspections have been done by the dealer. My independent mechanic is aware of this and directed me to the original recall notice. 5. There are no warning lamps. This has been going on for well over 18 months, maybe longer. I've already spent money with my mechanic on a repair that did not resolve the behavior (at that point, he did not have the recall notice and was doing his own troubleshooting)
There is a slight scrubbing noise when I turn the steering wheel in either direction. When I turn the wheel to the right there is a 'catch' of some sort and I have to put a little force in getting it centered again. I am scared honestly is gonna stay right and I am gonna run into something. I went to the auto parts store to see about power steering fluid only to find out my vehicle doesn't have that and its all electrical. I checked for recalls to see if this is an issue happening with my vehicle and saw none but did see that I am apparently not the only person to have reported such an issue. I am very, very concerned. This has been happening now for about a month.
When driving about 40-45mph into a curve the steering wheel catches, I am very concerned for our safety due to having to over correct. I have not found any recalls on my vehicle, but there have been some for other vehicles like mine. No accidents. Want to prevent an accident
Steering will stick at the 11 o-??clock or 1 o-??clock position while going around curves at highway speed and takes considerable force to get it back.

While @ highway speed this vehicle lost ipower steering, power braking and the engine stalled out-??this latest event prompted my complaint and was the third time I have experienced this situation. In all three incidents I was simply able to coast to the side of the road and stop. Thankfully after a few attempts to restart the vehicle started and ran. It was very frightening given it lost total power on all three occasions without notice or warning it like it just turns itself off. I contacted RollX vans the folks from whom we purchased this handicap transport vehicle and they informed me of a safety recall V53 for 2017-2019 Pacificas. The recall details the exact symptoms of what I experienced. I took the recall information and the vehicle to a local dealership Larry H Miller Chrysler, Tucson AZ and they mostly dismissed my account and said there is NO recall on my VIN despite the V53 recall. They said the tech couldn-??t get it to duplicate and situation. They said they checked the grounds and it-??s all OK. I am not convinced considering the timeline of their alleged repair and the answers I rec-??d from the service writer when I asked specifics about the repair. I suspect they simply test drove it when it did not duplicate the situation they said it-??s OK.
Start/stop feature has stopped working (warning light is on), and steering wheel is sticking on short turns requiring extra pressure to right the wheel. There is a recall for this problem, however my car is not included.
While driving the steering power assist failed. Stop/start and stabilizer icons appeared indicating failure. Vehicle repair eventually made at Chrysler dealership by fixing ground wire. Initial repairs were made replacing other parts that did not correct issues. Not included in recall for same issues per VIN ID of this 35th Anniversary Limited edition.
The Start/Stop system has gone out twice. Once the indicator light came on, the vehicle then will stop working.. sometimes in the middle of a road or while driving. We-??ve taken it to our dealer twice, replaced the batteries (twice). I am truly concerned for my family-??s safety as it feels like we can-??t control the car when it malfunctions. This issue is ongoing, first repair was made July 2022 at Arrigo Chrysler in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Next same place in August.
Yesterday, (12-22-2022) power steering stopped working while driving vehicle, pulled over and restarted the car and started driving again and once again the power steering stopped working but did make it home. Then this morning when backing out, the power steering stopped working, pulled back into the garage and parked. Called dealer for assistance, told they were closed until Monday.
Driving along on Aug 2nd and at about 30 mph all electrical systems turned off, acc, blind spot, automatic braking etc, it went into limp mode and I had to pull over. The dealer installed a few updates and reset the codes. I drove it three more days and then it happened all over again this past Sunday the 7th
I have taken item to shop twice. The auto stop/start stops working and causes vehicle to stall. Dodge dealership says it is a loose battery wire and just reconnects it. The feature stops working and has a cautionary light. The vehicle runs poorly during this time and seems like transmission out of gear.
2019 Chrysler Pacifica. Uncontrolled steering wheel. The consumer stated the steering wheel jumps to the left or right. The failure caused the consumer to crash into a large rock damaging the front end of the vehicle.
Lane sense behaves erratically in certain circumstances; alerts loudly and request hands be placed on the steering wheel when they are already on the wheel and am traveling safely within a lane; no lane changes. Has alerted in driveway as well and alerted for service. Took to dealer and they could not replicated or determine problem. They provided informational flyer on lane sense but it does not match reported conditions/alerts I received on auto's console. Consistently fails and behaves erratically going northbound on golden gate bridge - in all lanes and on multiple occurrences. Occurs in various environmental conditions from fog, clear day, rain, etc. Occurs in motion and when car has been still/stopped (in driveway.) system alerts and then automatically deactivates itself. I don't know that manufacturer and dealers have full understanding of behavior; especially the detection of what the car believes are no hands on the steering wheel/feedback torque.
While my wife was sitting in the car with the car running in park the car began to go in reverse and it started to accelerate and brakes didnt work and car crashed into a fence and shed. Multiple witnesses confirmed her account as she had window down and was screaming with her hands in the air. Once car came to a stop it was confirmed that car was in park. Very scary.
