Van engine failed during driving. This is a known issue by Chrysler and they will not repair the underlying problem - this is related to a prior recall. Instead, it only suggested replacing the battery which is a temporary fix. Separately, this van has a pending recall due to a fire risk. Unable to use the plug-in hybrid function of the van nor park it in a garage due to the recall issue. It has been almost four months since the recall notice without any news of when Chrysler will fix this problem. I requested a buy back due to the inherent risk of severe injury from simply being inside this van but was denied.
Head gasket failure at 68500 miles. It causes a misfire in the engine and could cause an accident from the car bucking once it consumes the engine coolant and also causes overheating and a lot of smoke to come out of the tailpipe making it less visible for others on the road to see, if behind a car like mine
On [XXX] around 12:00 PM, while traveling northbound in the HOV lane at 70 MPH on [XXX] near [XXX], with two small children in the passenger row and two adults in the front, the following error suddenly appeared on the dashboard: "Stop Safely -- Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon." Power to the engine stopped as a result and the car coasted. A "red turtle" warning and a "Check Engine" error also displayed. No other errors, unfamiliar sounds, or mechanical noises preceded these errors, nor had there been any other recent problems with the car. We pulled over to the shoulder immediately and turned the car off for approximately 5 minutes to see whether the errors would persist. With the "Stop Safely" error no longer on the dashboard, we turned the car on again and drove it to the dealership. On that drive, the previous errors appeared a second time. The dealership, Carl Burger Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM World (La Mesa CA), has confirmed that the transmission needs to be replaced and that it is unsafe to drive the vehicle until the transmission is replaced. On August 30, 2024, the dealership said that they are waiting for Stellantis to release the transmission and "that won't happen any time soon." As of today, September 2, 2024, Carl Burger has failed to provide a timeline for the replacement and have informed us that we must deal with Stellantis in order to get the case escalated and the car repaired. They have also refused to offer us a replacement/loaner vehicle while ours is in the shop. The coolant keeps disappearing from the resevoir tank and there is a gurgling noise coming from the front driver side. The engine starts rough with the check engine light on.
Car seems to slip out of drive. In the Dashboard the D will start blinking and I can no longer accelerate. The message says to shift to park and back to drive. If this happens on time, I can start going again. If I can't get it to register that I've shifted, I will not be able to accelerate and I need to pull off the road. Once I come to about 1 or 2 MPH, the shifter knob will turn itself to park and the car will slam the parking break on. I get the message to press then engine button, turn the parking break back off and turn the knob to drive.

The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the START/STOP sensor light was continually illuminated. While at a red traffic light, the vehicle independently shifted to park(P) and shut off. The vehicle was restarted and placed in drive(D). The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the START/STOP battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the hood latch and the START/STOP battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.
My 2019 Pacifica Hybrid started showing a message around 07/19 -??Service Charing Station-?? followed by Service Park brakes, Service Parking system and was not able to start or control anything in the car. After 15 to 30 minutes it started working and no errors. On Friday, 07/26, car stopped all of a sudden (luckily my family was in the parking lot) and showed a different message -??Stop Safely. Vehicle will stop soon-?? message and after that it went completely dead. This is a concern that the vehicle would stop when driving and making the vehicle not responding to anything. You cannot control (brakes, driving modes, light) anything and when AAA jump started the car was in -??Running-?? mode and asking to power on the vehicle.
Vehicle was found to be overheating, with low coolant. Initial concern for possible hose leak, but nothing visualized on inspection...testing demonstrated a blown head gasket and possible warped cylinder. This is a recurring problem for Chrysler Pacifica's that Chrysler refuses to address. There were no warning signs before hand.
The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle there were several unknown warning lights illuminated and the contact was unable to shift the vehicle into drive(D) or reverse(R). Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was unintendedly slowing to nearly a stop while driving approximately 65 MPH. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission control module needed to be re-flashed. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The contact returned the vehicle to the same dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the selector switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, however the contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was driven back to the same dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.
6/20/24: Driving on highway. Message comes up "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut off Soon" and a turtle lights up on the dashboard. I pull over and turn van off. I turn it back on and message is still there. I turn it off again and this time quickly open and close the door to completely shut down the electric. Turn it back on and message is gone but check engine light is on. Drive home and then drive more during the evening with check engine light on the entire time. 6/21/24: Start the car in the morning and check engine light is off. Able to travel for about an hour and then, driving on highway, same message comes up and I do the same thing. Check engine light stays on again but message goes away. Drive for about 20 minutes and the message comes up again. Again I pull over and do the same series of things as described. Car allows me to drive but check engine light is on. Do not drive the car for the rest of the weekend. 6/24/24: Start car in the morning. Check engine light is on as I drive it about 5 minutes to my local mechanic. He runs the codes and does the research and tell me that I need a new transmission and it is under warranty. I pick up the van later to take it to dealer and the check engine light is off. Drive to dealer and now the dealer says there is nothing they can do if the light doesn't go back on. They are saying that I have to experience this same problem on a highway with my family in the car for them to fix it even though there is a recall on this transmission.
Clunking from the transmission and this is a common issue with many pacificas. There is a -??reset-?? online but this temporary solves the issue. At times it-??s very dangerous when driving when the transmission clunks when finding another gear.
The van started with very jerky shifting around 70,000 miles. The car would, at times, lurch hard forward when shifting. Eventually, a Chrysler dealer looked at the transmission and determined it needed replaced. The replacement transmission started with the same problems after about 20,000 miles. Van currently has only 115,000 miles.
While driving a message appeared on the dash "SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM" and vehicle doesn't even accelerate(we stay in Des Moines and visited my cousin in Dallas, TX, this is where this issue happened). Luckily I was on local road I was able to pull off, what would be the situation if it happens on interstate with such high speed travelling vehicles behind me. I was driving with my 2 kids and wife and I feel it's more dangerous to take a trip with this vehicle. Please try to find a solution or issue an recall and doesn't want this situation to happen to anybody.
Vehicle more and more frequently clunks the transmission when accelerating or shortly after excelerating to highway speeds. First started around 60k+ miles. Can tell when it will occur because the engine RPMs don't match the throttle input. RPMs rev just as transmission is ready to shift. Slight feeling of being out of control for a moment, especially in the rain. A quick Google search shows us that the shift jolt isn't new and is actually exactly what was happening with the Honda Odyssey van, which used to share the same transmission. Dealership acknowledged the issue has occured with multiple customers but Chrysler doesn't warrant the concern due to the $8,000+ service expense.
Loss of Motive Power reoccurrences (2 incidents) AFTER 1803A182 Safety Recall 03A correction was performed, 9 May 2023, by reprogramming Hybrid Control Processor/Aux Hybrid Control Processor on 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid (mileage: 35,180) Experienced a sudden loss of power twice; 16 and 17 September 2023. - 16 SEPTEMBER: Having just merged into one lane from two and speeding up hill (from approx. 20 mph) to merge onto highway, a sudden loss of power occurred without an adequate shoulder to pull off, resulting in time critical crash avoidance maneuvers by all vehicles behind us. No known crashes occurred within our viewing range. ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Unable to shut down vehicle for 2-3 minutes Check Engine Light illuminated Dash Diagnostic screen: -??Service Charging System-?? error Electric Power available: 56% Fuel: 3/8th) - 17 SEPTEMBER: After running a preliminary diagnostic test with my personal OBD tester, I noticed that the Check Engine Light turned off after the connection activated. I did NOT clear any codes. After printing the list of faults generated from the evening prior, I chose to take it for a short test drive. While waiting at a stop light within a mile from my house, the same issue occurred again, -??Service Charging System-?? error followed by two additional alternating notification on the dash, -??Service Shifter-?? error and -??Service Shifter Stop Safely Shut Off Vehicle to Engage Park, -?? with the transmission indicator selector knob lost illumination and became non-responsive. (as seen in attached pictures from previous incidents) Luckily, everyone was stopped this time. Within 20-30 seconds, the entire vehicle, including dashboard went completely dead then blipped back on as if nothing had happened, allowing me to make it home safely.
Van was idling rough and started to struggle to start in the morning, at times needing to try a few times before it would start up. Once driving the van is still idling roughly and at red lights feels as if it will not be able to drive at all. The check engine light came on so we had the error code read at AutoZone throwing the P0303 Cylinder 1 misfire. We first took it to our local mechanic where he was unable to fully diagnose the issue, he recommended we then take it to the dealership. Our van is currently at the dealership with coolant leaking into the head gasket. We have opened a case with the dealership and are independently pursuing them taking responsibility for the faulty parts. The car did not 'drive hot' at all and not temperature gauge change occurred at all. I cannot safely drive or count on this van to drive my four kids around at this time. This is a design/manufacturing flaw as I have recently found out that it is occurring in Chrysler Pacifica's at a high rate around 60k miles. We are at 63k in a 2019 and are now told we must pay 4,500k to replace the head gasket that the coolant has leaked into. This issue is common with this model and there is no guarantee that this will prevent the same issue with another cylinder or force us to buy a new engine on a 4 year old car.

First appeared right after radio tried to do a software update. I have pictures and videos of the issue. Leased car 2019 until Feb 2023. Purchased car from lease Feb 2023 and car has been inoperative since April 2023. There are multiple concerns from people experiencing similar issues as well on internet as well as videos on YouTube. I have videos and pictures of the issue.
I was getting my oil changed and the guy told me that my engine was no longer bolted down, that it can move all around. I called Chrysler and they told me that they would charge me to diagnose the problem and that it would not be covered under warranty. I took it to another shop and they said that it was not bolted down, because the bolts that Chrysler used were bad. It is so frustrating that my engine could slide around causing all sorts of issues and Chrysler does not care at all. How is that not covered?
2019 Chrysler Pacifica Limited 4/15/23- Uconnect radio failed to do over the air update. Since that failure the electrical system in the car has now caused the car to be non functional and intermittent. All the safety features stopped and warning lights came on stating service transmission so the car was brought to Chrysler dealership. Dealership has replicated the problem and now had the car now for over a month and replaced parts, some at my cost with no fix. The problem still occurs for them as well. I have asked multiple times if the radio could have caused this and each time I am told no.
