This is an ongoing problem. On August 06,2018 I took my vehicle to the dealership with this problem: When applying the brakes approaching a red light the engine would began to race. I pressed harder on the brake pedal, vehicle would not slow up. I put the transmission into neutral and the vehicle was racing very high and finally returned to normal. This happened to me three additional times before taking the vehicle to the dealership.
Dealership held the vehicle for 3 days. They could not get it to act as I had described it. They wiggled the wiring in the engine compartment, inspected engine wiring harness for chaffed wires, none were noted. Relearn ETC, relearn cam and crank, cleaned cam phasers. Relearn ETC, inspect. operating as designed at time of inspection. Inspect for concern, attempted to get condition to occur but could not. Connect scan tool, no codes noted, check for star cases, none noted, let run.
Again on 09-07-2018 as I was applying the brakes to stop for a red light, the vehicle engine raced again, RPM's went over 2,500 RPM's. Had to shift the transmission into neutral, vehicle engine continued to rev for several seconds before returning normal. Will be taking the vehicle to the dealership again on Monday.
