The contact replaced the battery however, the failure returned soon after each battery replacement. The contact also stated that the vehicle independently accelerated while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the vehicle also stalled while depressing the accelerator pedal. The service shifter and service electronic stability system warning lights were illuminated on the instrument panel. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle would not accelerate above 25 MPH while driving. The contact was forced to use the hazard lights and slowly drove the vehicle back to her residence. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V348000 (Electrical System) and 18V395000 (Electrical System, Equipment). The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired yet. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 18V049000(electrical system, engine and engine cooling), 18V395000(electrical system, equipment), and 18V332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control). The parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs as the recall notice was received over a year ago. Ray brandt Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat (1660 westbank expy, harvey, la 70058, (504) 334-8908) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available. The dealer diagnosed that the battery failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted several times and was unable to confirm when the parts were to become available. While driving various speeds, the check engine and brake warning indicators illuminated. Also, the vehicle lost power once the contact released the brake pedal. The contact would have to turn the vehicle off and back on in order for the vehicle to resume normal operation. An independent mechanic performed a second diagnostic test, but found no failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The dealer (lawley Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, 2750 us-180, silver city, nm 88061, (888) 706-9179) was contacted numerous times, but the contact received no response from the dealer and had been unable to schedule an appointment for the recall repair within a reasonable time frame. The manufacturer was contacted to determine if the part was available and to be referred to an authorized dealer to schedule the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.
