My family bought 2007 Chrysler Pacifica near December of that year and were in love with the design and look of it. Even to this day we still are happy with the overall quality. The transmission has been awful since day one though. It's embarrassing to drive other people in it. Not only does it shift rough between gears but when going from reverse to drive it jerks forward. It's unfortunate because we payed a hefty price tag for that car and maintain it very well and it has turned out to not be the greatest investment. We really like Chrysler and their products but I think we should have gone with the Chevrolet Traverse instead.
Great vehicle after a new torque converter was put in. Took a lot of convincing to the dealership in order for them to put one in. They tried saying there wasn't anything wrong.
I took the car into the dealership and was basically told it is normal on these cars. I am pissed! They need to let the buyer know everything that is "normal" with the car before they but it! If I had known, I would NOT have bought this car. It really should be considered a lemon.

As soon as i took the vehicle out of the dealership, i could notice a harsh engagement when the auto trans. shifts from 1 to 2 or downshifts from 2 to 1. It is like going over a rumble strip on the side of the freeway. It happened so harsh, i had to leave the vehicle back at the dealership the very next day. (The dealership was closed after i took the vehicle on Day1).
they kept hte vehicle for 2 days, then said that they re=programmed the transmission controler. It worked better, but the problem did not get fixed. I tried suing the vehicle for 1 day, but was so irritated with the problem, i took the vehicle back to the dealership. They again did something to the controller (2 days). Then the problem kept coming back at me (pretty hard).
Finally the problem was rectified (they claim to be), and i could still see that happening. Finally i was given an answer that it is not an unusual behavior, and it is pretty normal in these kind of cars (does not sit too well). Now the incident does not happen too often, but happens 10% usage. IT happens 100% when the vehicle is moved early in hte morning or late in the evening (First hit after the engine is cold). I am sick of taking it to the dealership, the vehicle is 2 weeks old, has hardly 400miles on it, but i am tired of this piece of @#$@.

Replaced motor mounts at 46,000 which indicates a problem. The mileage life of the car should not have presented a problem like this.
