For a few weeks on and off the crappler wouldn't start, then just start fine. Today my wife went to start it, there was a slight clacking noise and click and the engine would barely turn over and stop. It was already fairly obvious the starter may be going but before this, it would start. This time I simply tried to turn it over a few times and I smelled something awful, the car filled with white smoke and I started choking on it so obviously got the hell out of the car fast, opened the hood, there was a small fire going under the front exhaust manifold where I'm guessing the starter is. Unfortunately I didn't see this until I reached under to try and move wires to see where the smoke was coming from and burnt my hand. I dumped a bottle of water on it quickly that I had been drinking and put it out. This is what you get when you buy a piece of sh*t Chrysler ... BURNED!! I am more than upset with this car but for the purpose of the complaint I'll keep the many issues to this one. DON'T BUY CHRYSLER!!

Update from Oct 16, 2015: To update: Chrysler ended up taking my vehicle for inspection, which took 2 weeks just to get updates and phone calls from them. Finally the third week, they towed my vehicle to the local Chrysler dealer. After no word for a week, my vehicle (WITHOUT NOTIFICATION) was dumped in the back of my garage. I only knew because I walked to our local gas station and found the car delivered back.

We called and asked what was going on with it and they said it was a legal matter now so they wouldn't reply, only for us to wait for a written notice. After receiving the notice a week later (5 weeks now) it stated they were not at fault, from my understanding it was because the mileage allows them to not be responsible after so many miles and it's considered aged parts.

The kicker? Our vehicle was scratched up on both sides of the front end badly as well as the passenger side rear door, (WHICH WAS NOT PREVIOUSLY DAMAGED AT ALL). Now the worst part, I took the vehicle in to get it repaired by a licensed automotive repair garage, they had to change the whole radiator, I asked WHY? He said there was a LARGE hole spraying antifreeze directly on the starter which may have caused it to short.

Here's the funny part, I check the fluids regularly and I work on vehicles myself just not for a main job and there was NO fluid loss whatsoever, I would have EASILY noticed that large a hole spraying antifreeze. As the automotive repair place even said, if it was that wet to begin with, considering a 50/50 mix, it wouldn't have caught fire!!! Someone purposefully tried to NOT make it look like Chrysler's fault.

There was NEVER any sign of a radiator leak, I just checked everything over because we were supposed to go out of state THAT week. I wish I could prove it was done intentionally, all the damage, all the hassle, 5 weeks without a vehicle and a 700 dollar fee for repairs. I literally will NEVER EVER buy a dodge, chrysler or any other such product again or EVER suggest one to someone. If I could have afforded a lawyer I would have sued them to the maximum extent of whatever I could possible.
