Pacifica Touring V6

First I have only had this car for 1 year and a half and I have spent more money on this car than I have ever spent on any car. April of 2013 my transfer case went. I took it to Aamco of Roslindale Mass and was charged 2,800 dollars to replace it, which I am still paying for. Then June of 2013 something was leaking and we took it back to Aamco where the guy told us he had to replace one of the gaskets, I had to pay another 300.00 dollars. On top of that ever since we got the transfer case replaced my car has been smoking and the smell of some kind of fumes comes into the car.

Now it started leaking transmission fluid. I took it back to Aamco because I felt that whatever he did should be under warranty. This guy tells me that it's a piece that cost only 25.00 dollars but with the labor it will cost me 526.00 dollars. This has been an on going problem and I really feel like this car is unsafe to drive and there should be some kind of recall on the 2007 Pacifica's, there is no way I should be paying all this money for this bull sh*t of a car that is always smoking, someone needs to look into this asap.

I need to speak to someone about this, I may have been sold a car, that I am still financing, defective or the Aamco dealer is robbing me for something he should have fixed the first time he replaced the transfer case and didn't do the job correct and keeps charging me all of this money for something that should be under warranty. Please someone help me, thanks.

Pacifica Touring 4.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 67,108 miles

The cause of the transmission failure, I believe, was because the engine mounts failed. I was a former marine engineering mechanic in the Navy and I know all about engine mounts and the damaged ones I viewed in my opinion were of very poor design, cheap and nasty. I will not buy a chrysler again

I took my car to a family member that owns his own car shop on 03/15/2013. He told me the power transfer unit was completely damaged and needed to be replaced and that he would get it all taken care of. I completely trust this man and the complaint is not on him its on the Chrysler Manufacture. I got a call from my uncle first thing on Monday the 18th telling me that he can not find the part anywhere. The Manufacture told him that this is a huge problem and they have ordered it but it can take anywhere from 3-4 months maybe longer to get the part. So basically they can not give me a time frame. Mean while I am with out a car. My only car! I called and talked to Chrysler Manufacture customer service department my self the next day and was told that there isn't anything they can do as the company they normally purchase the part from went out of business and that I was not the only one in this situation. I spoke to a supervisor there and was promised she would expatiate my order and she said that she would call me back and let me know when to expect it. She to this day has not called me back or returned any of my calls. I don't understand why if they don't have the parts why they have not recalled the cars.

I bought this Pacifica new in the fall of 2007 and really liked the "Lifetime Power Train Warranty". That is until now when I need it to fix the broken transfer case and they say because I missed the 5yr/50000 mile check up the warranty is void! Who would have thought that the transfer case would break at 53K miles anyways? I did have the vehicle back to the dealer several times before this major breakdown for transmission issues that they say they fixed by applying a software update, but I never saw or felt any change in the way it shifted. Who but Chrysler would ever build an automatic transmission and then decide to NOT give it a fluid check/dip stick? This way my seventh and last Chrysler product because the will not honor their warranty because of 2K miles. I tried calling their Customer Service department and was turned down for any type of cost sharing even and now they will not even talk to me! The American people should have turned them down for any cost sharing when their arse was broke instead of using our tax money to bail them out in their time of need! Being e retired Vet I don't just have the kind of money the repair costs, so it will sit broken in my driveway until I can scrape together enough to fix it and then dump the thing.

Besides the fact that I have only had the vehicle a yr and had to pay $120 to have it towed to repair shop on 1-31-2013, the part has been back-ordered until today 3-12-13 !!! so something tells me that this is a major problem with all Pacificas and a recall needs to be issued.

I am so upset that this has happened because I only had the car for a year and still paying on it. This same problem has at least happened to two other pacifica that i know about, so this needs to be investigated by Chysler.

Pacifica Touring 4.0L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 64,950 miles

I just put on new brakes and had my oil changed. I always take great care of the car. Today while driving I heard a loud noise, then smoke and grinding. I had it towed to my mechanic. He put it on a lift and showed me a hole the size of a quarter on my transfer case. I think this is a defect and should be covered. According to the dealer, my warranty has expired. This is a huge cost and Chrysler should take care of their defective transmission.
