Owner of 2006 Pacifica, two years ago, fuel tank would not register gas properly. My mechanic just repaired a Pacifica in my town and reluctant to try and fix mine, due to the fact that after replacing fuel pumps, fuel tank and injectors, they still couldn't put gas in their car. So I lived with it and kept count of my mileage and my gas usage and it worked out fine. Then my engine light came on and gas cap light almost two years ago, I left it go, I have had my engine light come off and on for years now, so I didn't pay much attention, I could still get gas, and there was never an issue until I had to get my car inspected and it failed inspection, come up some codes and I had to take to my mechanic. He said it was my fuel pump and replaced ($700.00) later, & it passed inspection.
I went to put gas in and it took 7 gallons, then stopped, I knew I could have gotten more gas by my calculations, but I thought I had made a mistake. Today, I went to my mechanic which is where I get gas too, and it would only take 4 gallons. I used up 160 miles worth of fuel and knew I needed more, So now he wants me to bring it in tomorrow for a crimped hose or a venting issue, he said. I have a feeling that now my car is like the rest of these Pacificas, and is going to have some major fuel tank problems, and my year is not the recalled year. I hope Chrysler recalls our cars for this defect. Money doesn't grow on trees for me and my family.
