CarComplaints.com Notes: Engine cradle rot is a serious problem in the 2004-05 Chrysler Pacifica. Chrysler admits they didn't apply enough coating to the vehicle's sub-frame during assembly, but only offered to cover a very small portion of the vehicles they messed up.
So what happens when your engine cradle rots? Well, the engine could fall out for starters. It could also cause problems with the suspension and other components but did I mention THE ENGINE CAN FALL OUT? The worst part is you might not know because there's no way to see the problem without getting under the car.
If you have a 2004-05 Pacifica, make sure to have your mechanic inspect your sub-frame for rust and corrosion.

I have tried to help the American economy by buying American cars, but I am done! The Chrysler Corporation puts, out junk cars...period! I have had four vehicles from them and many of the same problems happen over and over in each of the vehicles. Major front end work always being done, tie rods, struts, bushings, Tranny, Water pumps, fuel pumps, you name it. With the 04 Pacifica, it gets worse. Not only did have have to get all the above work done, but I also now am faced with an electrical problems that even the Chrysler Dealer cannot fix. They claim that the car has water damage, maybe from the server New England weather this year and somehow water has damaged the electrical system, and the repair cannot work may not last if it can be repaired..It will also cost a arm and leg with not guarantee. This car has been in the shop 5 times in one year..this new electrical problem has the car's instrument cluster staying on even when the car is off which drains the battery, the GPS will not work at all, check engine light stays on, but the computer tells me everything is wrong even low fuel with a a full tank. My doors will not lock or unlock with the key remote. the only thing that works it eh cheap factory radio in this junk box. Never buy Chrysler anything, they do not care about the customers at all and they have to know they are making junk cars by now! I cannot get much help with this from them and I have a family to support and this leaves me in a bind as to have to drive an electrical booby trap car with my small child. Chrysler sucks big time..
Update from Nov 28, 2011: Had the Pacifica one year and it got water damaged from the rain..wow! had to total out the car and loose money getting another..Bought Nissan this time. Will never buy any american car again unless i have to.
