I took this into the dealer took check along with a performance issue (after shutting off vehicle when returning to start it was very different in acceleration) and broken passenger seat release and the CLUTCH Problem.
When I got my car back they said couldn't find any performance issue and they had ordered the handle. When I asked about the clutch he told me that it didn't feel spongy to him and I told him that it isn't my imagination, but it is terrible on hot days and the clutch releases way too high. He said it was at the normal position. I told him I'm probably twice your age and have driven and owned more manual trannys than he'd seen and no clutch that is properly adjusted releases at the very top of the pedal.
Nothing was done and then I noticed that none of my real problems were noted on the service invoice to prove my claims.
