While driving home from work a small headlight icon appeared on the dash. I tried several times to shut it off by turning the light switch on the column - this didn't work. I applied slight pressure in every direction and could get the light to turn off temporarily. When I got home and walked around the car, I saw my running lights on. I again applied slight pressure on the column to turn them off. By morning my battery was completely dead. As I recharged the battery, I noticed my running lights back on again. I again played with the column to get the lights back off. If this doesn't work then off to a garage. If it is expensive, then I will cut the wires to the running lights, link them together to complete the circut and hope it works.
