The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler PT CRUISER. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle shut off without warning. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop and the mechanic stated that the battery failed. The manufacturer failed to install a protective plate on the battery; therefore, fluid penetrated the computer wiring harness and caused the vehicle to shut off. The manufacturer will be notified. The current and failure mileages were 50,000.
