CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2006 is the worst year for PT Cruiser engine complaints. Having an engine light on is annoying, but it's the complaints about the engine shutting-off while driving that really have us concerned.

My car has been throwing the code P0882 for over 8 months now. It is chronically in limp mode. I had the TIPM & PCM repaired. I have changed sensors and checked wires until I am blue in the face. I took it to a mechanic who charged me $150 to tell me to take it to the dealer. A month later and still no call back.
Here is the thing, I see it over and over, the same codes, same symptoms and the same desperation to have the issue resolved. Is it a short? Transmission solenoids? Tipm again? PCM? Why wasn't the PT Cruiser included in the TIPM class action? How many people have thrown money at the problem only to end up having to junk their car? Something's are obviously wear and tear, but this, this is a true defect and Chrysler should be held accountable.
