CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2006 is the worst year for PT Cruiser engine complaints. Having an engine light on is annoying, but it's the complaints about the engine shutting-off while driving that really have us concerned.

A car with less than 56,000 miles on it needed a new alternator?! No local part available, mechanic found one in Indianapolis! Took a week to get it diagnosed, find part, get part and get it in. Alterator costs over $400! This is the latest in a string of mechanical failures this car has experienced. Will be reporting previous ones in a bit.
