Chrysler is aware of this problem but. . . After the major oil leak was noticed my local shop repaired what was thought to be the problem engine seals. . . Cost $1118.45. two weeks after completion and a few hundred miles, the motor starts leaking again. I returned to the shop and the diagnosis is the crankshaft is walking {(i.e. moving foward and back from wear) not something that should ever happen} causing the seal to fail. Garage checked about problem result (common problem) of twenty repairs reported and investigated the easy repair only worked 4 times and it is undetermined how long it worked. The other 16 after easy repair, they reported they had to replace the motor. I checked with local dealer result ... replace motor estimated cost $7000. WHAT ? $7000 YUP !
Called Chrysler they said it has to be diagnosed by a dealer, cost $100 made appointment. Will update.
