This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
With no warning and no apparent cause, the rear driver side quarter window detached from the car while driving on the interstate. Since I was unaware of what exactly happened at the time (I just heard a noise and felt some wind) I did not stop and am unaware of what if any property damage may have occurred to other cars as a result. It looks like there is a recall for this problem on later PT CRUISER models (07V149000), but that does not apply to 2002 models.
The contact owns a 2002 Chrysler PT CRUISER. While driving 55 mph, the rear driver side quarter glass separated from the vehicle. The dealer has not inspected the vehicle. The manufacturer and dealer stated that the VIN is not included in recall # 07V149000 (visibility:glass, side/rear). The current and failure mileages were 50,000.
