This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
2001 Chrysler Lhs. The vehicle has about 100,000 miles on the odometer. Issue #1 the vehicle dies suddenly while driving. This is a random occurrence, but very unsafe. I intend to contact Chrysler about this issue, but no safety recalls have been made for this vehicle. Issue #2 vehicle engine surges suddenly when stopped while the driver has their foot on the brake and not touching the accelerator at all. The idle jumps around anywhere from 1,000 - 2000 RPM and then settles back down to normal idle on it's own after a few seconds. This is a random occurrence, but could be a safety issue if the brakes do not hold.
