One crack started out as 2" long hairline, but have gotten bigger and now it is across the passenger side dashboard. And right below is suppose to have the passenger side safety airbag. Have called several places to find out how to get it fixed/ replaced - the only answer I get was Chrysler has stopped manufacturing the dashboard, so answer is to cover it up. I feel that Chrysler should replace the dashboards as there seem to be so many complaints about them. These car manufacturers waits for couple causalities before they wake up and the do something about it. Being proactive is an issue for them! seems like dashboard crack is Chrysler's expertise in general, have also found complains on their 300M at www.carcomplaints.com/Chrysler/300M/2000/accessories-interior/cracked_dashboard.shtml.
The contact owns a 2000 Chrysler Lhs. While driving 70 mph, the hood molding flew off of the vehicle and almost struck another vehicle. The contact pulled over and attempted to find the piece, but was unsuccessful. The dealer stated that the repair would cost $300. The contact found several complaints regarding this failure. The failure mileage was 80,000 and current mileage was 92,216.
The molding that is attached to the windshield snapped off and landed on the highway. Replaced cowling/molding. The consumer noticed that the way the windshield was attached to the hood was poor.
