The 1991 Chrysler Imperial is a piece of scrape metal. Multiple electrical problems that started in visor mirror light, burned & melted wires, relays & switches. To date speedometer does not work, Replaced head light switch, dimmer switch, speedometer, fuses & relays, BCM, battery & alternator several times. Has been in for replacement of Transmission control module. ABS Failed when mirrors shorted out. 2 sets of broken front struts. Then dissolved rubber gas lines from ethanol in gas. I have picked the local junk yards of all the parts to keep the Imperial running to date. My suggestion is to buy a parts car to keep one on the road.
Update from Jul 16, 2015: I got the Speedometer to work with a new sending unit. Not easy to find & need a arm with 2 elbows. lol Also got another PCM to get things working again. Need to have correct build date to get a correct PCM. Now battery is charging & no over charging. I also replaced a lot of Wiring I cut out of a Junker. But the PCM was for a car with California emissions. I now have a 32 trouble code because the PCM is looking for a EGR valve my Chrysler does not have. I Fixed the Coolant level sensor. Float had a leak. Cleaned it up & re-glued it together. Now to find a ABS to replace the one in car not functioning. Over $1000 for replacement parts.
