Hello, on Friday, February 19th, I experienced a catastrophic failure of a yokohama iceguardig20 tire. The entire inside side wall of the tire completely failed. Please see attached document named "yoko tire failure - 2016feb26.pdf" for details of the event a photos. The other attached documents contain information on the cost to replace the failed tire. I submitted correspondence to yokohama on February 26th, 2016. They have not responded in 60 days so I am submitted to the NHTSA to lodge a complaint. The yokohama website clearly indicates there is a five year warranty. However, they did not respond to date. I am quite disappointed with their lack of response. Any assistance with this issue would be appreciated. I never experienced anything like this before in nearly thirty years of my driving experience. My engineering background strongly makes me believe there is an issue with these tires. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
