The contact owns a 1999 Chrysler Concorde. The contact stated that the passenger and driver side door handle broke; as a result she was unable to unlock the doors in order to exit the vehicle. The contact also mentioned that the automatic locks and interior lights would turn on and off. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who decided to glue the handle back on as a temporary remedy. The remedy failed to repaired the problem since the handle came off completely. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 85,000.
The interior lights stayed on, even after the vehicle was turned off, which drained the battery. Consumer had to remove the fuse as a temporary fix for this problem. The cause of the failure was undetermined.
