My 1995 Chrysler Concorde with 3.3-litre V6 engine. VIN#[xxx] the engine shuts off during driving. Sometimes the engine restarts on its own immediately while coasting after it shuts off. Sometimes I have to pull off the road and wait a couple of minutes for it to restart. It has been happening about once or twice a week. The local dealership could not diagnose the problem, and at $85/hour diagnostic time, I am reluctant to bring it to them again. Most recently this happened on June 23, 2004. On that day, while driving, the first time time the engine shut down and restarted by itself, the second time later in the day, the engine shut down and I had to restart it a few minutes later. VIN is [xxx]. mileage is 108,852. Purchased 6/00 at croton Dodge, croton-on-hudson, NY. Updated 07/25/2012 information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
When appyling brakes engine vibrates, and sometimes vehicle will stall. Consumer took vehicle to a mechanic, and he said engine bolts were broken, and needed to be replaced.
The plastic handle on top of the dipstick breaks off easily, this allows the dipstick to remain in the retaining tube, where it could vibrate loose and drop into the engine, which would cause major damage to the engine.
