Consumer had vehicle checked for recall 97V201000-750. Steering wheel would make a mild grinding noise when turning. Consumer was trying to convince dealer there was a problem, but they wouldn't cooperate. Consumer received a recall notice from Chrysler & had taken it to another dealer, which wasn't able to do it because one dealer had recorded it as being done. Chrysler manufacturer & dealer have given consumer problems.
The vehicle was taken to dealer to repair defect that was on lower control arm recall. The dealer pumped air into the ball joints. Later the consumer developed steering problems, and contacted dealer again. The dealer stated that the steering problem was not associated with the recall. While driving on highway the front lower control arm completely separated from the ball joint at 25mph. No accident or injuries occurred. (97V-201).
The vehicle was taken to the dealer to have recall repair done for the lower control arm. When the owner left, the dealer noticed a loud noise the vehicle was making, and it wasn't making that noise before they brought it to the dealer.
Had received recall notice (#97V201000) & called dealership. Set the appointment & took vehicle in. After arriving at dealership, was informed had no parts to do repair work.
