This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The left front tire of this vehicle failed on the date indicated. Less than 4 hours later, the right front tire of the same vehicle failed. The failure appears to be a sidewall defect. There are no apparent punctures. The tires exhibit a tear, from inside out, in the sidewall. Unsubstantiated runmor from a tire installer is that he "sees this probelm on this tire all of the time".( dot number: Tire size: P225/55R17 )
