Sway Bar Links 300m - Most of the rattle and clunking from these cars are the sway bar links. The rears have rubber groments that dry rot fast on them. Groments are cheap and easy fix. Then they have a pressed nuckle on one end on the rear and both ends of the links are nuckled on the front links so the whole link will need replaced. They are called the Sway bar link or stabilizer links because they keep the car from swaying around curves. Very easy fix for average person with less than an hr labor.
Although common to rattle on most cars sooner or later,Chrysler missed the boat with this front end design. Very poor job and links need replaced alot!
My car is only 29 months old and even though I drive a fair amount of miles this is a problem that the public relations rep. at Chrysler was not interested in helping me solve. The problem is not the first time for them. The service writer at the dealership told me of a service letter from Chrysler about the problem. Even though there is not a recall for this problem, there is a problem!!!
