The fuel tank strap on the drivers side snapped. It is severely corroded. The passenger side is also corroded but has yet to break. I contacted Chrysler to request they put in a recall or special warranty to cover replacement of this item and reminded them of the Ford fuel tank strap recall www.autoweek.com/article/20110801/carnews/110809984 Chrysler advised me that they cannot consider my request. I let them know that I would inform you of this serious safety issue as the fuel tank could drop and cause an explosion and/or environmental hazards (I.e. fuel tank dropping and fuel spilling). These straps should have been coated with an anti corrosive during or prior to manufacture of the vehicle.
