Regularly maintained vehicle with all necessarily regularly scheduled maintenance in addition to things that popped up and shouldn't have gone out. No warning lights went on, no dash lights went on, car was not overheating. Had oil changed one and a half months ago and everything they checked was fine. Monday as I parked the car, I noticed white smoke coming out from underneath the hood. Popped the hood check the coolant reservoir which had very little in it but there still was some in the reservoir. Also checked the oil which looked like melted milk chocolate. Had the car towed to a shop who has now told me that he head gasket leaked for whatever reason and I now need a new engine.

The cost of a refurbished engine for this vehicle starts at $3,000 for the part , including labor it totals about $5,500 which is more than the car is worth . We had bought a separate extended warranty through Auto Care who now says the warranty is void because we did some of our own oil changes. Had we not done some of our own oil changes, replacing the engine would be covered under that warranty. So, I am extremely aggravated with Chrysler because there were no warning signs and no lights came on and now the car is ruined. I'm also extremely aggravated with the warranty company. There are a whole lot of complaints against this type of engine with Chrysler.

I had purchased my 2007 Chrysler 300C AWD ON 6/29/2010,..WITH 43,000 miles for $26,000. I am the second owner, the first owner had ordered the car with a lot of extras and paid $42,465 for the car (I do have the sticker price)...

On August 29, 2015 I went to start the car and it was having problems starting, the sounds it was making was like the whole engine was going to just drop out of the car! Then came the white cloud of smoke out the exhaust (death for a car). I was shocked when my father who is a retired mechanic told me YOUR GOING TO NEED A ENGINE!! The Pistons were crashing into the heads? Something like that.. The night before I did hear a sound as I was stopping for a traffic light, it sounded like I was dragging something under the car, then it stopped... I have taken such good car of this car from day 1! I did my oil changes EVERY 3,000 MILES..I'm obsessed with this car I'm not joking...till this day I park far away from all cars, the body looks like it just came off the showroom floor! Interior as well, so this is why I had to put another engine in it... when the engine blew I still had 10 more payments out of a 6 year loan!

As of today I got 2 more payments left... I am very disappointed with Chrysler, how can a $42,000 car which was 8 years old die at 86,000 miles. ? And that's considered low mileage for a 8 yr old car! It cost me $5,000 to replace. Which I am now trying to pay that off! It seems like Chrysler knows of this problem, the Engine place was very familiar with the 300 's engine problems!!

Bought a new Chrysler 300c in 2007, always had it serviced on time at the dealer & did every recommended repair or maintenance the dealership recommended. All four door handles broke, dealership wanted $1,000.00 to repair, I bought all four online for $80.00 & replaced in a few hrs. Gas filler came loose, dealer said a new one was needed at a cost of several hundred dollars, pulled the snap ring & reinstalled in under five minutes and was fixed. Engine would lurch forward at stop signs & red lights. These are just a few of the problems I had & had the dealer fix many more that they recommended. Finally, at 140,000 miles one day it wouldn't start & when it did it ran very rough with a loud knocking noise. Had it towed to a mechanic & was told engine failure! Chrysler said this is a common problem?! Ended up selling it to the mechanic for $1,500.00! What a waste! Do not buy a Chrysler! They do not stand behind their product!
