gasket around fuel pump failed allowing gas to pool on top of fuel tank under the back seat on passenger side. this resulted in a strong "gas/fuel" smell from fuel vapors colecting inside the car and the obvious risk of ignition/explosion and negative health effects of breathing said fumes.the vehicle has not been inspected yet because we are afraid to start the vehicle let alone drive it to the shop. We are making araingements to have it towed to the repair shop. we have not had any warning lights. Mechanic said it was a common problem with seal failure around fuel pump. the vehicle has 127,000 miles
Once fueled, the engine will consistently stall from start to cruising speed, and has even shut off while driving. There was an issue with Chrysler fuel tanks evap valve sticking open, which causes this fault, however I have not received any assistance from Chrysler or any authorized dealer.
My Fuel Tank is stuck in open position, it is making my car stall, sputter, and cut off. When my gas is very low car doesn't cut off and runs fine, but when I fill car up it stalls and cuts off, this is very dangerous it cuts off at red lights, stop signs, slow traffic, I've seen this is a Warranty/Recall problem with the faulty fuel tanks, with stuck open fuel shutoff valve. My car is running at max fuel because of this problem. It's been like this since I bought car 2 months ago. I need this fixed immediately. And all parts on my car are brand new this Faulty fuel tank is the Culprit
The car will just shut off while driving or at rest. My safety and other people on the road is unsafe in the vehicle because when it shuts off in the middle of the road the steering wheel is also not working. The car has been to multiple shops with each shop guessing what could be the problem and fixing what they think may be wrong and after 2,000 dollars the car is still stalling out while being drove. No lights or diagnostic test come up with anything that could cause the problem

Fuel leaking through gas gasket under rear passenger seat near electrical components. Gas Fumes fill vehicle cabin when fuel tank is full and could be ignited by a small spark. No warnings of issue on dashboard. EXTREME DANGER!
Gas puddles inside under rear seat causing strong smell of gas in cabin. Replaced oring gasket however that was not the problem and did not fix the issue. Still have not confirmed where the leak is coming from....it could be the plastic line, plastic nipple that the line connects too, or the plastic housing fuel transfer pump. Still unsure where it's leaking lots of gas.
Car will shut off randomly after filling my tank up I've only had this vehicle for a few months I wasn't aware of this was going on a road trip with my kids I filled my tank up got on the highway was driving on middle lane normal driving an with out warning my cars dash lights come on an car shuts of instantly pulled over turned the key to off position an the car start right away
When fuel tank is filled beyond 3/4 of a tank the engine stalls. I've been in many scary situations where this happened. I bought a new car because I was scared to drive this one. Upon learning there was an issue I contacted my local dealer who said a new fuel tank would be ordered and I would be contacted the next week to have it installed. 2 weeks later I contacted them and was told they had to diagnose the problem. After discussing the issue the dealer assured the tank was being ordered. Hopefully the problem will be fixed with the replacement tank - it remains to be seen. Why is this not a recall? It is a safety issue when a car stalls while being driven. Age of the vehicle should not be a factor - this car only has 66,000 miles. I am the original owner
My Chrysler 2006 300 C smells of heavy oder of fuel inside occupant seating area. upon investigation, found the fuel pump situated behind driver, under back seat, and the modulator is situated behind passenger seat. both fuel and assembly are exposed to occupants, leaking and accumulating pools of fuel. there is no safety barrier between the fuel and occupants! this is a critical DESIGN FAILURE for occupant safety!!! The modulator is made of plastic and exposed to caustic chemicals (fuel) which causes premature corrosive damage exposing all occupants of vehicle to multiple health risks including DEATH!! This vehicle needs to be recalled!!! and not only fix the issue with leaking fuel, the vehicle needs a fire proof barrier between the fuel system and the occupants.
When filling the gas tank to completely full, the engine will die without any warning. Does not happen when the tank is partially filled. Several times after completely filing gas tank, a couple hundred yards from gas station, car suddenly dies. Starts right up again and after driving a few more yards it dies again. It died on me about 5 times in a row. Could be deadly when pulling out into traffic.
Vehicle stalls after refueling. Used to be an annoyance, now dangerous. Driven 78000 miles like this. Heard about and have Netscape recall and Chrysler lifetime guarantee to replace known problem. It includes canister, valve, gas cap etc but they and Chrysler rep say they know nothing about it even though I gave them your and their own letter to us.
Fuel vapor was leaking into our car through air vents and from fuel pump itself. It caused the car to fail and not start. Had to replace fuel pump, yet same thing keeps happening. Now gasoline leaks from the outside underneath the car (when driving, or parked but with car turned over) where the fuel pump is non stop.
7/11-5/12, I took my 2006 300C hemi into my dealership for my car stalling after I have driven it past 1/4 tank then fill it up. I was told different repairs was causing the issue. On 5/4/12 I got an answer it was my fuel tank. My warranty ran out 12/10 the dealer wanted $1500 to replace the tank. I contacted chry Corp explained what I had been dealing for the last 10 mos. I didn't have money to repair. Chry offered to help had me pay a deductible of $245. My mileage was about 57,000. I was thankful for Chrysler helping me out. In 2013 there was a recall on the fuel tank. I called chry Corp again and they said yes it is a recall & offered to refund me back for the deductible I paid. Now in 2020 my car is doing the exact thing, (125K mi) wanting to stall/does stall after I ran past 1/4 tank, then fill it up. I took my car to my private mechanic, he told me this is a recall take it to the dealership. I called the dealership, they said my VIN # was not on the list. I called chry Corp explained what I was experiencing. They told me they do not take 3rd party diagnosis, I needed to take it to a certified chry dealer. I did and they confirmed it was my fuel tank! Chrysler Corp said there's nothing they could do for me my VIN# does not qualify, besides the warranty expired! on the forums I read said this recall is a lifetime recall. I sent my work orders to both dealer & corporate and the dealership said my fuel tank was never replaced just fuel pump. All these years I never let gas tank get lower than 3/4 tank, it was a habit from my prior problems. Until 9/14/20 I ran my gas past 1/4 tank and filled up. As soon as I was driving on side streets when I would come to a stop at a signal and start to go. My car would do the exact same thing as 2011-2012! sending all my info I was still denied by Chrysler to fix fuel tank recall!! please help, to repair now it's $2500!!!
The fuel tank leaks fuel into the cabin amy any time the tank is filled more than half way up; that or any time it is more than a quarter full and driven on a steep hill. This has been happening for about 7 or 8 years or more now...it started in around 2012 I think, when the car had just over 100,000 miles on it. I am never able to fill up my gas tank because of it., and if I need to go up or down a steep hill (and there are steep hills and driveways all over the area I live in), the fuel leaks into the car and the fumes are very strong.
My car stalls 3 to 4 times when filling up the fuel tank went to lake wales Chrysler dealership located at 21529 us-27 lake wales, Florida 33859 tel# 863-676-0733 to get the shutoff float and valve and fuel tank replaced just like the NHTSA recommends it's been 4 months and nothing is happening
My Chrysler 330 when filling up gas tank, shuts off frequently when driving..I have no brakes, power steering, & engine shutoff..I was able to pull off highway & roads w/ luck 7 not causing any accidents..I think NHTSA # on this issue is-PE-13016..it is a dangerous situation that I hope gets corrected asap..thx for your help...this happen 3 plus times...
When I fuel my car to full I start to drive and it stalls and will not restart. I brought it to the dealer and they said it is due to a faulty gas tank which is covered under a lifetime warranty extension U.S. D-14-05. They also said that it is possible that when they remove and replace the tank that the exhaust flex pipes could break which would require them to have to replace the pipes and the catalytic converters they are attached to. The estimated cost of this would be $3,300 and they would not cover this cost. This would mean that through no fault of my own if the warranty work is done and the dealership breaks the flex pipes I would be required to pay for the repair of those pipes and related parts. This is ridiculous, why would I have to pay for parts, which are fine now, but could be broken by the dealership when they do the warranty work" if you are going to extend a lifetime warranty on this defective part then why would you not cover the work and labor necessary to fix the problem especially if there are parts broken by the dealership when doing the work" there should be an additional cost coverage for all work done that is necessary to fix the problem not just the part and work to replace it as long as everything goes perfectly. If parts are broken by an authorized dealership when doing warranty work then those parts and the labor to replace them should also be covered. I am attaching the invoice from the dealership so that you can see the problem in their words. This is unacceptable! why would anyone have warranty work done if there are any other problems caused by the warranty work that are not covered. It does not say that these pipes are defective or worn it just says that they might break when doing the covered warranty work.
