Gear shifter on my 2006 Chrysler 300C got stuck in park on 6/25/17 at about 98,400 miles. Luckily car was in my driveway when problem occurred and I was able to look up this issue online and found out this is a common problem with Chrysler vehicles. Apparently there was a K39 recall relating to this same gear shift problem. But for some reason, that recall only covered the 2005-2007 300 LX models, not the 300C model. Here is link to recall letter: www.wkjeeps.com/misc/LX/tsb_300C_forums/csn_K39.pdf. I don't think this is right to not include the 300C models if it had the same poorly designed pink plastic transmission gear shift lever interlock return spring hook as this is the cause of the gear shifter being stuck in park. I found a youtube video on how to temporarily get my car out of park gear with a screwdriver. And another video to show people how to replace the transmission gear shift lever interlock return spring hook themselves. With the existence of these youtube videos, this should be a good indication that this is a common problem with some Chrysler models. But why did they not recall the 2005-2007 300C models"?" here are links to the youtube videos: 1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?V=oxtdogvon1W, 2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?V=prorqdfjcp4, 3) https://www.youtube.com/watch?V=7cd6ocitj3K

My 2006 Chrysler 300C srt8 6.1L engine stalls randomly when stopped, coming to a stop or cruising speed. Sometimes it'll take months for reoccurrence then out of nowhere it happens while, engine stalled. Happens while make a turn at a light also. Starts back up and sometimes stalls instantly. After like the third stall check engine light comes on and the only fault code is P0700. Bought the car in 2015 and less than two months later is when I experienced my first occurrence. Took it to the dealership three times that year and they said they could not duplicate the problem or figure out what's wrong. About five months later (2016) it happens again, engine stalls out of nowhere on the freeway. This time it wouldn't start so I had it towed back to the dealership. After two months of them having my car they said it was the transmission control module so I agreed to replace it. Two months later same thing again so obviously the transmission control module wasn't the problem. Might I add that randomly while driving there is a hard "buck" from the transmission, like it wants to lock up. I've been in and out of the dealership with this problem for two years now and Chrysler claims to not know what the problem is. I am terrified every time I'm in this vehicle. I feel it is an accident waiting to happen. I'm still paying for this car but need to know what the issue is and how to solve it. Dealership says there is no recalls or updates available for my car.

The floor shifter is stuck in park an hour away from home. There is actually a recall on this problem (Chrysler customer satisfaction notification K39 transmission shifter interlock lever) that includes my model and year, but not my specific vehicle. The VIN numbers of vehicles that qualify for free replacement are apparently too selective, judging by the number of complaints online of like vehicles that have experienced the same problem. Why limit the recall to specific VIN numbers, when even Chrysler has identified that there is a range of vehicles that could, and actually are incurring the problem, but are not being covered?

The 300 had a recall on the fuel tank, which was replaced January 2015 by tate in frederick md. Since then the stalling issue has gotten worse. I took the car to tate 4 times, and was told 4 different diagnostics. 1= transmission, 2= battery, 3=plugs & coils, 4=canister for extra fuel. I replaced the spark plugs & coils. Which didn't correct the issue. I took it to a 2nd dealer. Darcar's in rockville md and they are now telling me that its the transmission control module & power control module. My car no matter if there is a full tank or a 1/4 of tank stalls when I am at idle. It can stall once or the max is 9 times. I have a 1 1/2 year old & 5 year old which is a safety issue. I found this forum, which are other people having the same issue & different dealers are throwing different parts. I don't think the replacement of the fuel tank corrected this true issue. Can you please help me with discovering the true cause and making the cars safe for the drivers and passengers?

I was driving my car to work and I stopped at a stop sign. I made an attempt to make a smooth merge into traffic but my car made little effort to move. I stepped on the gas and it struggled to speed forward as if it was stuck in a high gear. In order to get the transmission to shift again, I had to pull over, turn off my vehicle, and turn it back on. After work, a similar issue rose. I was in stop and go traffic and when I hit the gas to move forward, it struggled until the vehicle gained speed of about 10mph, then it picked up speed as normal as if it was stuck in 2nd gear. When I got home, my engine temperature reached 217 which is well above normal. The car isn't giving me a code so I can know what exactly needs to be fixed.

After fueling (filling) our 2006 300C the car was started successfully. After engaging the transmission and pulling away from the pump the engine suddenly stalled. After letting the car sit for a few minutes, the car successfully restarted and continued to run. This has happened a couple times a month since the first incident.

After fueling my car to full tank capacity (93 octane as always) I pulled out of the gas station and slowed down to stop at a red light (traveling at less than 10 mph). The engine stalled as I came to a full stop. I placed the transmission in park and re-started the engine. Engine started fine and I drove for about 5 miles with no further issue. Note: Check engine light did not come on and all other dash indications were normal. After parking the vehicle I inspected the gas cap and verified that it was secured tight and not loose. Also checked under the fuel tank and engine compartment for anything out of the ordinary. Did not see or smell anything obvious.

It is extremely difficult to put shifter into park. It is usually stuck between R and P. I am required to forcefully pull shifter into neutral to start. This car has been plagued with some type of electrical issue that I have spent nearly $1000 trying to determine. I am unaware if the problem is related, but my concern is when it appears to be in park, the backup light are on. I can push the shift to put into park. I have removed the shroud in hopes to figure it out. This car is a pain.

I stopped at an rr crossing to wait for the train to pass by shutting down the engine to decrease pollution. The vehicle restarted but I was unable to shift from park to drive and I was stalled in the middle of the road. Being locked in park, I could not even be pushed out of traffic.after checking the internet this is a well known problem with this make & model and certain VIN's have been recalled to correct by Chrysler. There are thousands more on the road that did not fall under the recall but are experiencing the same safety problem. Sitting in your driveway and not being able to move the vehicle is one thing, sitting in the middle of the road as I was is an entirely different situation. All vehicles of this make & model need to be recalled immediately!

Walked out of the house to go to work. Car started fine but could not get it out of park. Got online found out their was a recall and this is a common problem. Called the dealership and they said my car is not under the recall. Now the dealership wants to charge me 350 to replace the shifter but its only a small part. If this is common why are all the cars on this recall?
