The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler 300C. After opening the hood of the vehicle, the lid fell downward and struck the contact's head. The incident caused a small laceration that did not require medical attention. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the hinges were faulty and needed to be replaced. The contact indicated that the same failure was also present on the trunk lid. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 25,000.
