I have a Chrysler 300C 2005 which was purchased Sep 2005 brand new from Jeep Chrysler in San Diego by my husband as a anniversary gift. This morning I get in my car at 0530 to come to work and I could not pull the gear shift from park position. I then went online and seen a video on the problem an it showed the transmission gear shift lever interlock return spring was broken. I contacted Chrysler Group Recall Assistance Center help desk and was told that it was a "Recall on the Recall", stating that the part on some of the Chryslers where replaced and it was a recall on the replacement part. I then asked the representative well then the factory parts should have a recall also and she stated no its a "Recall on the Recall" How stupid is this and now I have to come out of pocket to have this fixed. Chrysler you MUST come to the RESCUE for this issue please.

I was unable to shift out of park. I called the dealer and was told how to bypass the problem by taking the

console apart and manually pushing the shift interlock part toward me in order to get the vehicle out of park.

I found information showing a recall on the problem, but the dealer told me my vin # was not included. I was able to drive the car to my own mechanic. The fix was to replace the shift assembly. It cost me $425.00 and I was not happy that a very expensive care with only 37K miles had to depend upon a piece of plastic to keep it moving. I find it unbelievable that Chrysler did not include all vehicles with the possible problem. I will not buy

another Chrysler product in the future.

THIS CHRYSLER 300 C HAS HAD PROBLEMS FROM DAY 1. The car got stuck in 2nd gear and wouldn't go faster than 30 mph due to the limp mode that kicks in to help preserve the car from further damage. Drove it home, and then put it in park. Tried to get it out of park several times with no luck. Had to take apart the shifter and manually press in the PLASTIC button and shift it into reverse. Still wouldn't go past 30 mph. Had it towed to chrysler and the cost was going to be $729. Couldn't the TMC replaced and gear shifter replaced. Payed diagnotic fee. Chrysler said car ready for pickup. I payed a tow truck bring the Chrysler back home and was shocked to see they didn't even put my car back together!!!!!!!! The dash was still taken apart and the car had wires dangling everywhere!!!!!! DISGUSTED!!!!!!!

SHOULD BE RECALLED ON ALL CARS AFFECTED. ONLY CERTAIN MODELS COVERED. ITS THE SAME EXACT FAULTY PLASTIC PART. CHRYSLER WILL LOSE A OT CUSTOMERS OVER A FEW DOLLAR PART THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN INSTALLED IN A $40,000 VEHICLE OR EVEN A $10,000 ONE FOR THAT MATTER.

SHAME ON THEM. DON'T KNOW HOW THEY GET AWAY WITH IT. THEY MUST BE IN BED WITH THE NHTSC.

COME TO WORK NO PROBLEMS GETTING HERE AND NOTHING DIFFERENT HAPPENING ON THE WAY TO WORK . THEN ITS TIME FOR ME TO GET OFF WORK PICK UP MY SON FROM DAY CARE . AND WOW MY CAR WON'T GET OUT OF PARK . DID THE BRAKE THEN NOTHING . DID THE AUTOMATIC RELEASE THING NOTHING , THEN CALL THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY OH HEARD OF IT 2007-2008 HAVE A RECALL AND NOT THE 2005 THE EXACT WORDS OF THE DEALER ( IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO GET A RECALL APPROVED FROM CHRYSLER ) HOW SAD IS THAT.

I hate this fu*ken car its been promblem after promblem money has been spent over and over. then the dealership make me feel like its all my fault. my problem with the car is this gear shift module lock up. Second time $400 dollar to fix.The only reason i still have it is because the car is paid off and i dont want another car payment. The car cost me $35500. I order it so i am the only owner.

I will never buy another jeep chrysler or dodge and i tell everybody the same. These cars suck and always have sucked. Yes they look good but what is the point when they are always costing you money and always in the shop.

i own the 2005 chrysler 300c. at 62k, the gear shifter does not come out of park. towed it in to the dealer to find out that a 451 dollar plastic piece was needed for the fix. now it gets interesting........there is a recall for this problem on the 2005 300c......but only certain vin numbers.......my vin did not match the recall list. what the f*ck.......called chrysler and got a case number from customer service and was told that i would be getting a call the next day. guess what still waiting on the phone call. they say i might get reimbursed. dont believe it. will never buy another chrysler ever again. now the remote entry has crapped out .......i love Detroit but there new slogan should be "this is what we wont do"""

Car was in great working order and very very well maintained by me. Went to restaurant and came outside afterward---could not get it our of park. Called AAA. Two separate mechanics showed up at different times. The second mechanic opened the entire gear shift box console exposing the cables etc. He managed to free cable ( which I had to use as a shifter to drive to my mechanic 20 miles away( stuck in first gear) and very harrowing. I then learned Chrysler has had NUMEROUS problems with these gear shift boxes in several different models and it appears there has been no adequate recall which is even more vexing to me. Do I have any recourse? Have governmental agencies been notified to call out Chrysler on this issue? Am I entitled to reimbursement from Chrysler? Also my understanding is that the problem could have been fixed with a new metal clip interior to the gear box thereby replacing the pink plastic clip. I am burned up about this happening!!! How do I personally make a complaint to Chrysler H.Q.?

So this started about a year ago (2007) while car was out of warranty. I could not shift into Park. I had to leave car in Neutral to start engine. After a few days it started working again and I never though anything of it. Now problem came back (Oct 2008). Once again could not go into Park without the help of the over ride switch under shifter. (see manual). Once in Park, car did not know what Gear it was in or the fact it was in Park and would not start. I still had to put it in Neutral Gear to start it. Took it to the dealership and they said they had to replace MANY shifters for the same issue. Parts and Labor was $300 bucks and about 4 hours worth of work. Why is this NOT a RECALL, I'm not sure yet. I'm planning on contacting Chrysler HQs and speaking to them. A car with 55K miles should not be having this kind of an issue, especially when it first happened at around 40K miles.
