The radio screen started to delaminate and at first it did not cause any issues but as the delamination area grew the screen would push it's own buttons. The station would change, it would push buttons that accessed my contacts in my phone and would actually make calls, as it was connected by Bluetooth. The radio would shut down and reboot on it's own while driving. At times the screen looked possessed as it would push buttons all over the screen. Turning the heated seats on and off. This has been very frustrating because it cost so much to replace the radio that I have been able to afford to get it fixed

This is such a tacky issue to have with such a nice, luxury car. It looks so bad and the quality of the picture on the screen is horrible now.

My infotainment uconnect screen began delaminating and eventually the screen would go black, radio channels would change for no known reason, back up camera would not be operable, I would drop phone calls, and many other problems associated with the radio. I understand there have been many complaints concerning this radio. Why has Chrysler not done anything to correct the problem? I was told by Chrysler they would not cover this but I should take it to my local dealer and let them evaluate the problem. Once this was done Chrysler may or may not cover the repair. My local dealer wants $85 to tell me they won't cover this problem, their words not mine.

I noticed that the top left corner of my screen started to have a "bubble" under the screen. I was originally hoping that it would work itself out, and that it was heat related. The bubble got bigger on the left side, dipping down a bit and then it continued spread from the top left, across the top, and dipped down on the top right. This is called delamination. Delamination occurs when the different layers of the screen separate.

I am not sure what caused this. Materials played a part I'm sure, but it may be heat-induced. It is the summer in central Illinois and it gets in the 90s throughout the days. Upon further internet sleuthing, I saw quite a bit of this same issue reported online, throughout the Chrysler/Ram lineup. Luckily, I had two more months on the original bumper to bumper warranty. I also have purchased the extended warranty, which is a no-brainer on a vehicle with this many moving, electrical parts and expensive components. I highly recommend getting the extended warranty for this vehicle, as this repair would have nearly cost what I paid for a 6 year extended warranty.

This part took about 10 days to come in, so don't plan on getting it done quickly once you report it to the dealer. The radio screen was installed in a half of a day, I dropped it off at lunch and was done by the end of the day.

I hope this complaint can help someone prepare if they are buying a new (to them) vehicle or navigate the repair process when they inevitably have this issue.
