The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the display screen intermittently failed, which caused the navigation system to become inoperable. The display screen controls the navigation and HVAC system. The contact who is deaf and relied on the navigation system for commuting. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the display screen might fail due to the high temperatures in Florida. The display screen needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN and the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.
