The contact stated that the failure occurred at various speeds, requiring that the brake pedal be depressed with excessive force. The contact stated that the ABS and ESC warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that while braking following a curve in the road, the rear end of the vehicle started swaying slightly to the right and left. The contact stated that the warning lights were constantly illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that one of the wheel sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact had not taken the vehicle back to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.
The contact owned a 2015 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that upon pulling out of the driveway and driving downhill, the engine shut off inadvertently, and the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. The brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond, causing the vehicle to crash into a tree. There was no warning light illuminated. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained a bump and soreness on the left knee, and soreness in the neck. The contact received chiropractic assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was a towed to a tow yard, where it was totaled. The local dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
