The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler 300. Upon purchasing the vehicle, the contact heard a grinding noise coming from the steering wheel when turning in either direction. The dealer stated that the noise was normal and would disappear once the tires were "broken in." The noise continued well over three months. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer and they stated that the rack and pinion steering was defective. They also stated that the part to repair the steering was unavailable. The dealer stated that they would call him once the part arrived and would assume liability. The contact was concerned about how the dealer allowed him to purchase a defective vehicle. The vehicle has not yet been repaired. In addition, the cd player would not play a complete disc. The failure mileage was 5 and current mileage was 1,800.
