As the vehicle was being coasted to the side of the road, the driver lost control and crashed into a guardrail. The vehicle caught fire. The contact stated that the air bags did not deploy. The driver escaped by kicking out the driver side window before the vehicle became engulfed in flames. The police and fire department were at the scene and the fire was extinguished. Police and fire reports were filed. The driver sustained injuries that required medical attention, hospitalization, and rehab. The vehicle was towed and deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.
