Engine shut off while driving anywhere from 20-40 mph - or when the car is in idle mode - engine will shut off. Sometimes after refueling as well - gas tank was replaced with the warranty issued by Chrysler by an authorized Chrysler dealer however a day or two later I was back to seeing the same engine shut off issues. I find it hard to believe that this is not taken as a severe safety concern. Someone is going to get hurt or killed due to this engine shut off issue - it should be reinvestigated.

2006 Chrysler 300. Bought this car for my 16 year old daughter to drive. The car starting stumbling and stalling at random times, and speeds, once while driving at 80 mph the rpms dropped to 0 and the check engine light flashed; it always just flashes. Then just as fast as the rpms dropped to zero it came right back up. The car jumped forward like I floored the peddle. I have managed to capture this on video, because it went on acting this way for several miles. Then it was fine for about another 150 miles. Then. It returned. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times and they say no codes no problem, the forth time it happened I got a code U0100 and P0700. With my scan tool but again dealer says they cant find anything wrong and there is no codes. When asked how was the check engine light on if there were no codes. The answer was they did not know. This problem still is present to this day. It still stalls and shuts down at any given speed. Rather its parked or running 80. The car use to restart ok but now the restarting is becoming an issue. I just made the first payment on it a few days ago. I bought this car from a Dodge dealer. Here's what I am going to do. Its well documented (by me and the dealer) that this car has a problem. They say its safe, they say no codes no problems. So im going to continue driving it and if something goes wrong (heaven forbid) Chrysler will be funding my retirement. So thanks Chrysler. I'm trusting you and your representatives. You say no codes no problem. Please consider this another piece of documentation.

Vehicle was parked in garage. Had been driven home at 11:30P.M. and woke up to fire in the garage at 1A.M. entire home and contents were lost. We had to jump from 2nd story windows to escape our home. Fire department and fire marshals felt that fire began in the garage and found it undetermined, but told us that they felt strongly that it was the vehicle. We contacted our insurance company with info we found online that stated the braking problem was being recalled. They stated that they had no information to pursue. Car was also a total loss. I own a 2006 Chrysler 300 after filling my tank with gas I left the gas station, aprx.. 2 blocks away from the station my engine lost power and the engine light came on and off it regained power after about a block this is a serious problem that many people have had. I called Chrysler they said my vehicle was not covered Chrysler knows they have a problem. They won't do anything about it until someone gets killed.

Chrysler 300 touring edition 2006 stalls after I come to a complete stop at the bottom of steep hill. I was able to restart the car after putting it in neutral. The car then had problems accelerating.
My Chrysler 300 electric throttle light and engine light were intermittently coming on it was running rough, jerking and stalls out. I took it to moss bros., my dealer to find out what was going on. The diagnostic showed the number one coil misfiring they put the intake manifold and then the head and found oil sludge. I was told at this point it could mean a new engine.

My 2006 300M dies if you fill the tank until the gas pump shuts off automatically. This has happened numerous times to us. I have owned the car 3 years, and this has happened 10-15 times. It has happened after filling up at many different gas stations. The car stalls. It can be restarted, but might stall multiple times. After the car runs for a few minutes or travels about a mile the problem resolves it self. -this has happened twice when I was merging onto expressways after filling up. Dangerous! the first few times it happened I complained to the dealership. They said, "they hadn't heard of this problem, and told me not to over fill the gas tank!" it must be the owners problem if they have a dangerous design flaw!
After filling up with fuel the vehicle stalls about 3 or 4 times. I looked this issue up and there was a recall, but it was VIN specific. I refueled on 7 January 2015, and was turning onto a busy highway, the car stalled while I was turning, I placed it in neutral and restarted it. About 1/2 mile down the road it again stalled, I lost power steering, and once again had to put it in neutral. The automobile stalled one more time and then resumed normal operation. I am afraid that this will happen when I am accessing an interstate where the consequences will be much worse.

I had heard of the faulty engine lifter assembly with these 3.5L engines. Never had a problem with mine until now. Started the car up to go to work about 5:30 am. Horrible lifter ticking sound came from the engine. Bought the car at 91,000 miles. Changed the oil before the 5,000 mile recommended intervals. Chrysler should step up and fix these 3.5L engines through a recall.
While driving app 55 mph at app 8pm at night my cars lights and all the dash lights went out and the car completely stalled. I was able to turn on flashers and coast the car to the side of the road. I sat there for several minutes and then the car restarted. Fortunately there was no one following behind me. I have been out of town on business and used a company car. Upon my return I took my car to our local shop today. They were unable to detect any problems, however shared an article stating more than 150,000 Chrysler owners have had similar trouble. They contacted the nearest Dodge/Chrysler dealer in aberdeen Washington who offered no help or information. They could give no reason for the incident. We have not received any recall notice, nor information regarding any possible problems. How should I proceed" I am unable to drive my vehicle for fear this may happen again, and this time I may not be so fortunate. This has created a significant burden and stress. It seems someone should be accountable and that there is a significant liability by not being notified of this significant safety issue. I stopped at a stop sign and the car stalled. It started right up, but had a hard time finding drive when I put it into drive. After that it ran fine. This same problem has occurred many times since. It happens randomly with no warning. It seems to happen more often after refueling, but also happens at any fuel tank gauge reading. Also the car hesitates at freeway speeds on occasion, but doesn't stall when this happens. I took the car to two dealers and after spending $500 they couldn't fix the problem. I called Chrysler and they were no help. My wife won't drive the car and I fear it will stall pulling out into traffic after a stop. After some investigation I have realized that thousands of 2006 300C owners have had the same problem and Chrysler is fully aware of this issue. How the dealers can pretend they have never heard of this problem and take money from me to fix the problem with my car, knowing they won't fix it, has to be criminal. Safety concerns were never addressed by the dealers or Chrysler as well.
While picking up my children from school the car failed to start, when I turned the key it made a horrible clanking sound (from the engine), at that point I had no choice but to leave the car there and walk home from school with the kids. I had just driven the car 6 miles from work, and the car gave no prior warning signs of this imminent failure. The following morning I had the car towed to my local mechanic, he later informed me that the valve seat came out of place (walked) and the car will need a new engine block and/or extensive work to repair the problem. He quoted the job to be at $7000, he also explained to me that this is a common problem particularly with the 2006-2008 Chrysler/Dodge hemi models, which should've been addressed by the manufacture due to the frequency in which this problem was occurring. I have always kept up with all scheduled maintenance and routine oil changes in my car, so I was totally surprise when this happened at 90,000 miles. Currently I don't have the financial means to have the car repaired on my own, and I'm asking is there any way that I can be compensated through the manufacturer for this problem?
