300 Touring V6

My Chrysler 300, a new car purchase in November 2007, has 58000 miles of normal driving on the odometer/engine and Chrysler dealership maintenance records dating back to the initial purchase. I felt as if my vehicle was in good operating condition until my recent visit to the Landers Dodge maintenance facility in Southaven, MS, revealed that my vehicle was leaking fluid from the axle seals on or about the differential.

Since my purchase of this vehicle, only two years of normal vehicle operations has ensued, but currently Landers Dodge maintenance facility diagnosed the vehicle needs over $500.00 dollars in repairs to correct a differential seal leak. Is this type of repair normal after two years of normal operation? Does this type of maintenance occur commonly among Chrysler 300 vehicles (2006) or were defective parts possibly at fault? I honestly do not believe the seal leak was due to any vehicle operation fault of mine and I have multipoint inspections from Southland Chrysler Jeep (performed in 2008) and Landers Dodge (performed in 2009), both in Southaven, MS. It is conceivable to believe a seal leak could have developed between the multipoint inspections; however, it is difficult to understand how a new Chrysler vehicle could develop an axle leak after two years of normal service. I have service documents that support my maintenance records.

I have contacted Chrysler Corporation via email and sent a USPS letter complaining about this problem, but received no response. It is obvious that the American consumer's money spent in the American Automobile industry is not valued. This is just another justification for consumers to purchase foreign automobiles, I am told that their service and vehicle reliability is superior and their vehicle maintenance cost is far less than the maintenance cost of Chrysler products!
