So this car was about $32500 out the door. Leak started initially as sloshing in the back passenger floor board. It was not clear where the water was coming in from. Took it back to the dealer. After a couple attempts to fix I took it on a road trip. Issue came up again (picture attached). After a rain the floor was wet again. Skylight had been replaced 2 times. Interior was getting banged up, left over screws etc. I physically asked West Hills Jeep Chrysler Dodge for some options. Sales manager offered to have me come in to 'make it right'. I was offered $15K for the car. Aside from that being insulting, they told me "its a highly rented vehicle which lowered the price". I did some research on the Lemon Laws and it just looked like 4-6 months of back and forth. Aside from the failings Chrysler themselves did nothing to help. They started a dialog but each time it required me to take the car back to the same dealer. I even asked if there was some place else I could take it. I was not offered a loaner car. After weeks of back and forth phone calls and no results I just traded it in and got into something else. Chrysler called two days later "So is it taken care of?" - Yeah I traded your piece of junk in and got a new car. "Ok I'll close out the claim".
Far as I'm concerned they owe me about $11,000. And I'll take it out on them by never buying any of their products.
I have even a few tips for anyone thinking about the Adaptive Cruise, Lane departure, and Collision warning and Media Center -
1. Put a USB Stick in it with more than a thousand songs on it - You'll wait 30 minutes before it can play anything! 2. Cardboard pops up on the free way, the car will lock up the brakes. This is great when your in the middle of changing lanes! 3. Sensors can't "see" blinkers or cars shifting in/out of your lane until the obstruction is either there or not. Its very dumb. 4, Lane departure only works about 40% of the time. If you're out on a country road with no fog line its inoperable. It also doesn't handle lane merges. 5. Gear shifters shaped like knobs are just strange. I can't count how many times I turned up the vent fan trying to shift into reverse. Transmission has a lot of excessive lag shifting.
