CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Chrysler 200 carries the torch of "never buy the 1st year of a new vehicle generation" with pride.
The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.

Takata recall my passenger air bag light keeps coming on. No one is not in the seat. I have to put things in my seat in order for the light to not come on.
I purchased my 200 in 2017, the ABS indicator light will not go off, there actually a recall but, my VIN doesn't show it. My emergency park has ignites on its while stationary at a stop sign and while in traffic at a red light, thankfully there wasn't any semi-trucks behind me because, there would have been a fatality. The car has lost power while in motion at least 3 times. Just recently my car become stuck in neutral and the car would not move. I called Chrysler, they stated that it was a powertrain issue and it would be covered with my warranty, so they paid for the tow to the dealership, the dealership had the car for a day, they counterclaimed what Chrysler stated, they claimed that it was because, the battery was just replaced so the computer needed to be re-set but, this happened on 2/12/2019 and my battery was replaced on 9/2018. There was a recall in 8/2015 for this exact same issue. I talked to the guys at my regular service station and as soon as I told them what happen they knew that I was lied to by the local Chrysler dealership.
While mobile or stationary my airbag sensor light is on. It has been diagnosed numerous times for the same reason. Due to a loose connection under my passenger seat. Chrysler has serviced it numerous times also. They have order new parts, replaced with other parts. They have tried to seat the loose connection in with a zip tie also. Issue has lasted since February of 2017
Note this did not all happen in the same day you are separate occurrences. First issue car shift itself in the park when I was at a red light on a city street would not shift back into. Second airbag light keeps coming on telling me to service airbag system comes on and off. 3rd I lose all power to electrical components. I was driving at night on the highway I lost all power to my headlights interior lights radio everything electrical.
Car stalls into neutral or just dies when in motion, the airbags do not work, the middle console went out in 2016, the car tire pressure sensor stopped working in 2016, the car randomly revs into a higher gear

Problem with stereo which completly turns off and resets while driving, will reboot and display warning. After turning car off radio will stay on emitting nothing but static. Air conditiining will automatically turn on. Air bag warning which will not vo away.
The "service air bag" light came on in my car a few months ago. I recently got it in to get it serviced at a Chrysler dealership where they ran diagnostics and said that a harness needed to be replaced in my vehicle which would cost around $2500. The person at the dealership also said that it was a potential safety issue. I, unfortunately, do not have the means to get this repair. My warranty is up as well. The car is only four years old with less than 30,000 miles on it. I did not get into an accident that would have caused the airbags to deploy or do any other significant damage to my vehicle.
I bought a chysler 200 limited 2015 vehicle. I keep getting a lite for the passanger side airbag. The transmission has issues. The car "kicks" frequently, especially in between gears. I called chysler about the Chrysler 200 limited 2016 recall but they said my car does not qualify - ??
My service airbag light kept coming on so I took it to Chrysler where I was told a wire had had probably become disconnected. They said all I had to do was make sure the ends were connected. It stopped for a while. Then a couple months later the service airbag light kept coming on again. I figured it was the plug and didn't pay much attention since I was told not to worry about it. Until my airbags exploded in my face one day as I was leaving work. I slowed down and was hit in the face, chest and legs by the airbags. I then hit the back of another vehicle. The front airbags went off on both sides of the car, the drivers side door airbag went off as did the back drivers side airbag..I was the only person in the vehicle at the time. From everything I have read the other airbags shouldn't have deployed. The cops didn't seem to believe the airbags went off on their own but I wasn't given a ticket. I know they went off before the wreck. I think this should be looked at.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated and remained lit. In addition, the sun roof motor malfunctioned. There were no warning indicators illuminated for the sunroof. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic and the sun roof motor was reset and repaired; however, the sun roof motor failed again. The vehicle was taken to mitchell Chrysler (416 hopmeadow St, simsbury, ct 06070) where the air bag harness was replaced; however, the air bag indicator illuminated again. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 45,000.
It"S been at least 8months since I?ve driven my own car because of all the safety hazards on it and I am pregnant. I feel to scared to drive it thinking that something may happen to me because the car wants to act up. Since about a month after I had financed the car I noticed that the air bag light was on and the transmission light would pop on and off. The car started to stay at a certain speed limit and would not accelerate no matter how hard or long I pressed on the gas pedal. I would then have to pull over to the side of the road and turn my car off and then turn it back on. This was ongoing for months.. it was my only transportation to work and I didn?T have the money to get a new car after just financing one and being young in the military. I had took it to my dealership when this happened and they told me that the transmission light would come up because the sensor for my oil wasn't reading and it was nothing to worry about and my air bag light came up because someone in the backseat must've stepped on it and it would still work but the light would be there. A lot of [xxx] but at the time I didn't know much so I went off of what they said. Later on the light would go on and off. For the first 6 month I believe I had replaced my lights 8 times thinking that it was normal to change it that often. Again I didn't know much about cars. But after getting it checked the dealership had told me I have wiring issues and I my head lights and highbeams don"T work on the left hand side. And after letting a friend use my car for a day I believe they've gone out completely. Today I went to drive my car literally 5min away from my house to the store to just turn it on and my car started shaking while I was driving it. Oh and my battery has gone out before on me a couple of times in the past and it did that to me today while I was on a hill which was really dangerous. Since we bought the car new in 07/14 we have been problems with the airbags. We have taken it the dealership, the have said theirs nothing they can do about it....due to not a recall on this model. We still drive with the airbag needs to serviced. We like this to be taken care of, as well all the transmission problems. Vehicle has stalled on us while driving on the highway couple of times...intermittent staggers while driving.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. While driving 15 mph, the contact rear ended another vehicle. The air bag failed to deploy. The contact sustained head injuries that did not require medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was driven to the contacts' residence. The vehicle failed to restart and all the warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing of the air bag failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.
Airbag light comes on intermittently. Dealer says that when the light is on, the airbags will not deploy. Dealer says that Chrysler is aware of the problem and that fixing it would cost $2,900, but that Chrysler also can do and "overlay" (I don't know what that is) for $165 per seat that might make the problem go away, but the only guaranteed fix is the $2,900 option. Obviously the $2,900 option is cost prohibitive so after we went with the $165 option, the problem still remains.
I have a 2015 Chrysler 200. While driving my car will just stall in the middle of traffic and not move, air bag light continues to come on repeatedly. I've had this issue looked at twice by the dealership. They charge me and swear it's fixed. This is the third time this has occurred and I get no one with the dealership. The situation is horrifying and unsafe. I decide to place a review seeing I'm getting nowhere with my local dealership. I just need the issue resolved.
My airbag light stays on permanently. It used to come on intermittently. I have had the problem fixed twice by a Chrysler repair facility. I was told not to worry it's just a wiring harness problem. I'm scared because I've seen airbag recalls and I don't know why my car hasn't been recalled yet. My car also seems to be jerking more frequently. It jerks sometimes when I'm accelerating. I was told this was normal because of the type of engine. I inquired about this not long after I bought the car in 2015. The jerking seems to be getting worse. My check engine light stays on. I can provide info that my airbag sensor problem was fixed twice.
