CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Chrysler 200 carries the torch of "never buy the 1st year of a new vehicle generation" with pride.

The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.

The low beams are blocked by assembly and in order to get them pointed high enough to do any good the high beams dont work correctly. This occurs at all times. If pointed at a wall you can cycle between high and low beams and the low beams show up as a if you were covering half of a normal headlight with a book.

Your Agency reported headlamps on my make/model vehicle poor to marginal in terms of vision, and is safety related. I contacted Chrysler directly, and had the headlamps inspected by my dealer. Dealer, obviously, says they operated as designed, but the indication by NHTSA is that they are designed poorly, and are a potential safety issue. Chrysler will do nothing to help. My 2008 Hyundai Azera headlamp depth of field is 30' greater.

During normal driving at night, any speed, any type road. There is very limited low beam projection. Appears to be approx. 50' or less(3 white stripes ahead of vehicle). Appears the design of the headlight assy.. the placement of the bulb is either too deep or too high and the top of the assy. Is blocking from a higher projection angle. High beam projection is good. I have contacted my local dealership who advised they have had other customers complain about this but no adjustments have helped. They had no suggestion for remedy. This is very serious safety concern for me and any other owners of the same model vehicle.

I was driving and my dashboard started blinking telling me I had to park the car. Once I parked for a little bit I was able to restart it but the engine light was still blinking. I was able to get it home before it shut off again and I will have it towed today. This is the second time within the last month that this has happened with the car.

This is a follow up on previous complaint shown below. Vehicle has been at the dealer since May 7,2015. Originally informed by the dealer where vehicle was purchased that it would take a couple of weeks to get a replacement transaxle. I contacted Chrysler customer service on May 20,2015 and was informed that the earliest they can get a replacement would be June 26,2015 and possibly as far out as August of 2015. Vehicle is currently at dealership. Repair and return is unknown at this time. "received a recall notice about an issue with the transaxle park rod late April 2015. Took it to the dealer where we purchased the vehicle. Where informed that the recall repairs could not be performed until after May 1, 2015 needed a specific tool that had been ordered. They did inspect the vehicle and said that it was safe, make an appointment for after May 1st. On May 7, 2015 my wife was driving on the highway at approximately 70 mph when she said the dash warning lights started going off and warning bells started going off. The warning said "service transmission" then would flash to "shift to park and engage parking brake". the transmission seemed to have shifted into neutral. The car was running but did not have any forward momentum. This message continued over and over. She had to go over 3 lanes of traffic before she could get to the side off the road to a safe spot. She immediately put on the hazard lights when this happened but had to Dodge traffic. Once she was stopped the shifter dial was still lit up that it was in drive, she moved it to park but still was lit up that it was in drive. She put on the parking brake and turned the car off. She waited a few minutes and started the car again. The shifter dial now showed to be in park, she tried to shift to all the other gears, the car would not move and the dial still showed it was in park."
