CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Chrysler 200 carries the torch of "never buy the 1st year of a new vehicle generation" with pride.

The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.

I had this issue 1st, and the car would burn oil, however, no leaks and the worst part was no warning lights or check engine light would come on. The car would just die at any point. On several occasions the car shut off on my daughter while entering a busy intersection. Dealer did a consumption test however was not to Chrysler's specs. After 3 times dealing with this with dealer, I replaced the oil myself and added Lucas Oil Stop Leak (and never had the issue again). The car did not burn a drop of oil after that. My biggest problem is car does not give you any warnings that it is low on oil. This is a safety issue that again Chrysler does not feel is important.

When buying a new car, you should not have to add one liter of oïl every 700 kilometers,. This should not be ,I have bought a lot of new cars and never had this problem. Chrysler need to fix their problems as they seem to have quite a few with this car, not sure if it is because they are onwed by Fiat, and they just might change name, like fly by night fraudsters. This is cheap and not expected from a North American Company. I feel the Chrysler dealer is given me the run around, as I had to pay for an oïl change at 7000 klm,150.$ and am putting in a liter of oïl at every 700 klm. since then,I have 12000 klm.now.
